MOTHER'S HOME MADE BREAD

8 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 package yeast
1 teaspoon salt
3 cup warm water
shortening

Mix dry ingredients. Add water and mix. Put in some shortening, grease fingers well, and work into the dough. Grease bowl, bottom and top, grease top of dough. Cover and sit in a warm place to rise till double it's size. Punch down and knead, grease top, cover and let rise till double it's size. Shape rolls and place in greased pan, cover and let rise till double it's size. Bake at 350 till light brown. Rub butter over tops of rolls and bake till golden brown. Remove from oven and place on clean cloth. Cover, and watch how fast they uncover them to eat.
