Children's Ministries

Jacob's Town,  A.W.A.N.A,  KNO & ACT II

OUR PHILOSOPHY

    We believe that our Children’s Ministries need to develop their foundation and their purposes from the Bible. Our teachers work hard to make sure that what they are teaching and portraying to the children comes directly from the Scriptures. We also believe that we are a supplement to what is already being taught in the home. Our ministries should not be a substitute for what God has commanded should be happening in the home. The responsibility to teach our children what God desires for them, lays on the shoulders of the Parents. We are grateful for the opportunities that you give us to help you with this enormous task.

Jacob's Town

    God has certainly blessed our ministry by giving Barry and Sue Camden. In children's ministries for over 20 years, Barry and Sue give us experience and a tremendous love for children.  They have turned our Sunday School and Children's church into an adventure that even our parents want to join in on. Using different sceneries (you have to see them to believe them!) Barry and Sue use puppets, characters, illusions, object lessons, skits, and good old fashioned lectures to bring the God of heaven to our children. Barry and Sue have done such a good job, that over 50 of our people have joined their ranks to help and teach our children.  We are grateful to all of our leaders for loving God enough to work with our children.

JACOB'S TOWN

EVERY SUNDAY MORNING

 Our AWANA commander Andy Johnson leads this great ministry of God to our children. AWANA stands for Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed. This program combines games, uniforms, competitions, camp, and Bible memory to teach our children the importance of God’s Word. AWANA clubs are world wide and we are excited about what God has been doing in the lives of our children through AWANA.

 AWANA-WEDNESDAY NIGHTS FROM

6:30 P.M. TO 8:15 P.M.

KNO. & A.C.T. II

     Taking the truths learned in Jacobs Town and AWANA and living them out in your everyday lives is a difficult process. To help our children make this transition we have established KNO and ACT 11. KNO, Kid’s Night Out, is designed for children between the ages of 10 and 13. Active game times, small groups, and children led Bible times all work together to help our children understand that what they learn must impact how they live.  

ACT II, Active Christian Teens, is designed for all teens between the ages of 14 and 18. This group uses small group discussion to help the teens assimilate all that God has for them to do and be. What an important time, the teen years are, for our children to be able to discuss with other teens what God is teaching them and what they are currently currently struggling with.

Both of these ministries are under the guidance of Ed Hlad who has worked with children as a Youth Pastor for 18 years. Ed is excited about the burden God has given the leaders of each ministry. Every leader desires to help these children conform to the image of Christ.
