Leiter later on pilots the helicopter when they are searching for the Vulcan and then watches out for sharks when Bond goes down underwater to investigate it. He then later helps out Bond in the finale. Memorable lines: “Fine way to treat the CIA.”

Bond eventually sees Largo as the main enemy and tracks down the whereabouts of the bombs. Largo tortures Domino with a cigar and ice cubes because of her disloyalty to him and leads an all out underwater assault in hopes of accomplishing his plan. She believes she has him caught, but is swung right into the path of a bullet that was meant for Bond. Memorable lines: “But of course, I forgot your ego, Mr. Bond. James Bond, the one where he has to make love to a woman, and she starts to hear heavenly choirs singing. She repents, and turns to the side of right and virtue, but not this one!” “You better fasten your safety belt.”
Vargas – Philip Locke The ever silent, ever cool Vargas is a dangerous henchman of Largo’s. He does not drink, does not smoke, and does not make love. What he does do is kill people. He is a great assassin, whose one bullet kills Fiona instead of Bond. He is often seen in black clothing, and merely stares as Quist is pushed into his death in the pool. Memorable lines: “The rest of my money…just have it ready.”
Quist – Bill Cummings This sometimes bumbling agent working for Largo is what Bond calls a small fish. He’s merely there to do all the little jobs, and seems to be more of an annoyance to Bond, rather than a threat. Largo, who is obviously displeased with his results, tells his men to toss him into the shark-infested pool.
Count Lippe – Guy Doleman Count Lippe works early on with Fiona and Angelo in the Health clinic. Bond notices a certain tattoo on his wrist and speaks about it with Moneypenny. Lippe later on sends Bond into a fright when he puts the traction table into the red zone. Bond escapes and then in turn, traps him in a steam machine. Ernst Stavro Blofeld (Number 1) – Anthony Dawson / Eric Pohlmann Blofeld here is once again shrouded so that his face cannot be seen. Girls Patricia Fearing – Molly Peters Pat Fearing is one of the masseuses at the Shurblands Clinic. She knows both James Bond and Count Lippe. He says there is a price for him not letting her boss know about the incident, as they both go into the room and the scene ends with her clothes taken off behind the glazed doors. She later gets a massage from Bond with that mink glove of his. Memorable lines: “Any time, any place.”
Paula Caplan – Martine Beswick Paula Caplan is James Bond’s assistant in Nassau. Initially keeping an eye on Bond and Domino when the two meet, she later accompanies Bond around the location. She is later ambushed by Fiona, Vargas, and Janni, and then later killed. Vargas observes that she must have taken a poison. Bond is saddened when he sees her later. Memorable lines: “Well, that’s not exactly what I’d call contact.”

She is tortured by Largo with ice cubes and a cigar, as he finds out that she has been helping James Bond against him. It is Domino that kills Largo and then makes an escape with Bond. Memorable lines: “What sharp little eyes you’ve got.”
Gadgets
Walther PPK – (Dr. No – Tomorrow Never Dies) The Walther PPK is first issued to James Bond in Dr. No by Major Boothroyd, when his Beretta is taken away. It delivers shots like a brick through a plate-glass window and has excellent stopping power. It has saved the life of James Bond on many of his missions and has been used to stop several of his main adversaries. Bond has lost the PPK on numerous missions, always getting a new replacement from Q Branch. Professor Dent is the first unlucky victim of the powerful handgun in the famous scene in Dr. No. The Walther PPK is 7.65mm and carries six rounds.
Homer Capsule – Issued to James Bond by Q, the homer capsule was a harmless device to be swallowed by Bond when in the field, where it could send the coordinates to his allies to pick him up. Near the end of the film, Bond swallows the capsule and is then later picked up by Leiter via helicopter. Leiter located Bond by directing the helicopter towards the signal and then received confirmation when Bond fired his flare into the sky.
Underwater Breather – This underwater breather issued to Bond by Q could be used to give him extra oxygen while underwater. It was obviously used only in the event of an emergency and had a supply of extra oxygen for only a few minutes. Bond uses the breather several times in Thunderball, once to stay alive while locked under Largo’s private swimming pool. He also uses the gadget in Die Another Day when dropping through a hole in the ice and going to rescue Jinx. Infra-Red Camera –
Issued by Q, this camera could be used underwater and in the dark to take shots in rapid succession with an infra-red lens. Bond used the camera to take pictures of a hidden underwater section of the Disco Volante during the night.
Gamma Gas Cartridge – Given to Angelo by Fiona Volpe, this cartridge contained a deadly gas that caused death instantaneously. He inserted it into a control aboard the plane and then turned the gas on, killing all of the others on board, traveling to the crew member’s masks.
Geiger Counter – The Geiger counter in Bond’s watch and the camera he gives to Domino later in the film was used to try and locate the two stolen atomic bombs. Both items would be of use when nearing the location of the hidden bombs. Domino is caught when leaving her cabin with the device by Largo. Becoming suspicious, Largo seizes the device, knowing that Bond gave it to her and then proceeds to torture her.
Bell-Textron Jet Pack – Used by Bond to escape from the French chateau after the vicious fight with Colonel Jacques Boiter, the jet pack was strapped to Bond and allowed him to literally travel in the air to safety. Upon landing on the ground, he quickly takes it off and tosses it into the trunk of his car to make a quick get away. The pack is also seen once again in the Q Branch laboratory in Die Another Day.
Underwater Propulsion Unit – Before entering in the large underwater battle, Bond is issued an underwater propulsion unit, which was attached with the oxygen tanks on his back. The unit allowed Bond to move at very fast speeds while underwater, also making quick getaways much easier. The unit was also equipped with weapons such as spears which aided Bond in killing SPECTRE enemies.
Quotes
Pat Fearing: Funny-looking bruise. A fall? Bond: A poker, in the hands of a widow. Pat Fearing: Really? I'd have thought you were just the type for a widow. Bond: Not this one. He didn't care for me at all. Pat Fearing: There, first time I've really felt safe all day. M: Do we know where she is now? Bond: Nassau. M: Do you really think she's worth going after? Bond: Well, I wouldn't put it quite like that, sir... Moneypenny: In the conference room. Something pretty big. Every double-o man
in Europe has been rushed in. And the home secretary too. Moneypenny: James, how else will you recognize her? Bond: Can't miss. She has a mole on her left thigh. Bond: My dear, uncooperative Domino. Bond: Seems more fitting for a woman.
Fiona: Some men just don't like to be driven.
Fiona: Aren't you in the wrong room, Mr. Bond? Bond: Not from where I'm standing. Fiona: Do you like wild things, Mr. Bond, James Bond? Bond: My dear girl, don't flatter yourself. What I did this evening was for
King and country. You don't think it gave me any pleasure do you? Bond: Do you mind if my friend sits this one out? She's just dead. Bond: I think he got the point.
