Allies Vijay – Vijay Armritraj Vijay is one of the contacts that James Bond meets when he arrives in India. He tells Bond about Kamal Khan and where to meet him. He is quite adept with the tennis racket also as he uses to fend off several enemies when they attack Bond and himself in the Tuk-Tuk taxi chase. He goes to Q’s workshop with Bond, but later in the film is killed when the assassins capture him and use the deadly yo-yo saw. Memorable lines: “No problem, this is a company car.” “Game, set and match!”
Sadruddin – Albert Moses Sadruddin is also one of the contacts that Bond meets in India and he the head of section there. He takes Bond to his hotel and is present when they are discussing Kamal Khan.
Jim Fanning – Douglas Wilmer Jim Fanning works for MI6 and is an expert in the world of auctioning of art pieces. He notices the Faberge egg that is up for bidding and attends the auction with Bond. While there, they take notice of Kamal Khan bidding on the very egg. Bond decides to test Kamal and joins the bidding war, much to the extreme distress of Jim. Memorable lines: “James, stick to the business at hand.”
Bianca – Tina Hudson Bianca is seen assisting Bond during the pre-credits sequence. She gives him his disguise and then later uses her beautiful looks to distract the enemies to allow Bond to escape with her. He then later says he’ll see her later, heading into the trailer for the Acrostar jet.
Sir Frederick Gray-Minister of Defense – Geoffrey Keen Sir Frederick Gray, who is first present in The Spy Who Loved Me, would often sit in on the briefings between James Bond and M. He is a high ranking Englishman who seems to always be concerned with the antics of James Bond and how it looks upon others. He is devastated when he shows up in a gas mask to Hugo Drax in Moonraker. In Octopussy, he arranges for the precious jewels to be returned to General Gogol and then speaks with M about the disastrous attack on the MI6 safe-house in The Living Daylights. Films: The Spy Who Loved Me, Moonraker, For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy, A View to a Kill, The Living Daylights. Memorable lines: “My God! What’s Bond doing?” “I’ve never been so humiliated in my entire life! Your man should be taken off the assignment.”
General Alexis/Anatol Gogol – Walter Gotell General Gogol is the KGB head of section and the opposite of M. He is often seen with his lovely secretary and takes an interest in several of the cases that James Bond works on as well. In The Spy Who Loved Me, he sends out Anya Amasova to locate the tracking device. He works against James Bond in For Your Eyes Only when he tries to get the precious ATAC first. Bond throws it over the cliff, humorously alluding to détente between the two of them. In The Living Daylights, he arranges for Kara Milovy to travel as she wishes.
Villians
Prince Kamal Khan – Louis Jordan Kamal Khan is an exiled Afghan prince who resides in the Monsoon Palace in India. Smooth talking and always suave, this cool character puts up quite a fight for 007 when he teams up with General Orlov to participate in a jewelry caper and a fanatical idea that could leave Europe devastated. He cheats at backgammon, and when revealed by Bond, he calmly, but sternly advises Bond to spend the money quickly. Later in the film he hunts down James Bond along with the locales, nearly catching his prey. Kamal Khan has no regard for human life as the plan he is involved in puts thousands of innocent lives in danger. He dies at the end of the film by crashing his plane into a Cliffside. Memorable lines: “Spend the money quickly, Mister Bond.” “Mr. Bond is indeed of a very rare breed...soon to be made extinct.” “You have this nasty habit of surviving.” “Englishman. Likes eggs, preferably Faberge, and dice, preferably loaded. His name is James Bond.”
General Orlov – Steven Berkoff General Orlov is the other main villain who is working with Kamal Khan. His main goal in their destructive plan is centered on Europe. A fanatical General obsessed with conquest, he plans to detonate an atomic bomb in Europe leaving borders open for him to walk across at will. When things don’t go as planned at the end, he is shot dead while trying to catch a speeding train. Memorable lines: “…but tomorrow, I will be a hero of the Soviet Union.”
Gobinda – Kabir Bedi Gobinda is the chief henchman for Kamal Khan. Stern-faced and quite strong, his is a dominating enemy of James Bond. He shows his force by crushing dice with his hands and engaging Bond in battle on top of a speeding train and on a moving airplane. He is also the one that guards Bond at the Monsoon Palace. He dies on the plane when Bond’s cool use of intellect prevails.
Mischka & Grishka – David & Anthony Meyer These deadly twins are assassins working for Kamal Khan and Orlov in the film. They are the ones that kill 009 at the beginning of the film and also battle Bond at the end. Bond knocks out Mischka aboard the train and then later kills Grishka in a nearby cabin with a knife after they both fall off the train.
Yo-Yo Saw Thug – William Derrick This villain brandishes an unusual weapon in the form of a deadly yo-yo saw that slices its intended victims. He is hired to assassinate Bond by Kamal Khan. Nearly killing James Bond and Octopussy several times during their fight, Bond and the thug eventually fall out of a window into crocodile-infested waters where the thug is then eaten.
Lenkin – Peter Porteous As a corrupt official of a jewelry repository, Lenkin is working with General Orlov on the caper. He is later caught by Gogol when he visits the facility.
Girls
Octopussy – Maud Adams Octopussy is head of a circus, and has participated in many other ventures. The daughter of Major Dexter Smythe, who knew Bond previously many years ago, she now smuggles jewelry and has a partnership of sorts with the evil Kamal Khan. What she thinks is merely a smuggling operation, is really Kamal and Orlov’s deadly plan. She is angered when she realizes the lie. All the while, she thought Bond dead after he had fallen into her crocodile-laden waters after a fight with an intruder. Bond rescues her when Kamal kidnaps her on the small plane and the two go through some rest and relaxation on her private boat at the finale. Memorable lines: “And you are James Bond, 007, licensed to kill. Am I to be your target for tonight?” “James!”
Miss Magda – Kristina Wayborn Miss Magda is first seen at the auction and later meets Bond when he travels to India to track down Kamal Khan. Spending the night with Bond, she later steals back the Faberge egg and then makes a grand exit, flipping off the high balcony. Later in the film it becomes evident that she is on the side of Bond, helping Octopussy break into Kamal’s palace during the final assault. Memorable lines: “It’s for my scrapbook. I collect memories.” “I need refilling.”

Gadgets
Walther PPK – (Dr. No – Tomorrow Never Dies) The Walther PPK is first issued to James Bond in Dr. No by Major Boothroyd, when his Beretta is taken away. It delivers shots like a brick through a plate-glass window and has excellent stopping power. It has saved the life of James Bond on many of his missions and has been used to stop several of his main adversaries. Bond has lost the PPK on numerous missions, always getting a new replacement from Q Branch. Professor Dent is the first unlucky victim of the powerful handgun in the famous scene in Dr. No. The Walther PPK is 7.65mm and carries six rounds.
Poison Pen – This pen is given to James Bond by Q. It contains a mixture of acid that can cut through any solid metal. Bond uses this pen to pry apart the bars of his window when he is being held captive by Kamal Khan at his palace.
Surveillance Watch – This Seiko watch, also given to James Bond by Q Branch, allows him to view live video coverage and is also equipped with a beacon receiver of the homing device. Bond uses the watch throughout the film to trace the Faberge egg and also during the finale to catch up with an escaping Kamal Khan.
Homer – This small homer is placed in the Faberge egg at Q Branch. Bond can track it via his Seiko watch. It also has a highly sensitive microphone installed, which Bond can listen to via the end of his pen receiver. The homer comes in handy for keeping an eye on the whereabouts of the egg, and also eavesdropping in on the conversation between Kamal Khan and General Orlov.
Crocodile Device – Reminiscent of the seagull snorkel device in Goldfinger, James Bond uses this water movable crocodile to silently and stealthily sneak onto Octopussy’s island and into her palace.
Hot-Air Balloon – This hot-air balloon, complete with the Union Jack, is the transportation for James Bond and Q as they move towards the Monsoon Palace where a grand fight between Kamal’s men and Octopussy’s gymnasts has broken out. It is equipped with close-circuit video cameras which they use to try and locate Octopussy. Q later comes to the rescue by knocking one of the guards out as he makes a landing.
Yo-Yo Saw – This deadly gadget/weapon is used by one of the thugs that Kamal Khan orders to kill James Bond. This stainless steel razor-edged wheel was attached to a yo-yo type wire that could be used to wind down and up on intended victims. Vijay was unfortunately killed by this device, and Bond came near to being a victim as well.
