Character
Guides
The
time setting the RPG usually takes place (unless otherwise
specified) is between A New Hope & Return of the Jedi.
What that means is that there's very few Jedi and Sith
and the Galaxy is in the Emperor's grip. When creating
a character do not use an existing movie or expanded universe
character, but rather, make your own.
Jedi
: Defensive, a Jedi
never instigates a fight but rather defends himself/herself.
He or she keeps a low profile as to not be discovered
by the Empire. A Jedi is usually on a mission of peace
or protecting someone important. The Jedi prefers his
or her lightsabre over any weapon.
Force
Powers: Light Side. A Jedi may try to turn a Force Sensitive*
player to the Light Side of the Force.
Maximum
(2) - a Master and Padawan.
Sith
: A Sith is like a
shadow, rarely seen. Unless in league with the Emperor,
the Sith have as much to fear of discovery as the Jedi
do. The Jedi has a hard time sensing the exact location
of a Sith.
Force
Powers: Dark Side. A Sith may try to turn a Force Sensitive*
player to the Dark Side of the Force.
Maximum
(2) - a Master and an Apprentice.
Bounty
Hunter : A bounty
hunter has no friends. Mistrusted by all, the Bounty Hunter
cares only about credits.
Force
Powers: Jump (for jet pack) and Seeing (for Helmet views).
Everything else should be at zero.
~ Bounty Hunter Rule ~
When
the Bounty Hunter is hired, the other player has no notion
of it unless he or she is nearby (i.e.: they are both
in the Cantina or someone tells them.)
The
Bounty Hunter is successful if he or she kills the player.
If the Bounty Hunter gets killed, then he or she is unsuccessful
and cannot continue to pursue the prey.
When
a Bounty Hunter captures a player, that player must obey
and not just escape right away. A captured player must
be rescued by another player or wait 5-10 real minutes
before finding a plausible way to escape.
The
player who hires the Bounty Hunter may not help in killing
the player in any way
Scenario
1 : Rizzo hires Hunter Skarr to capture Jayna. Skarr tracks
down Jayna and she's killed. Jayna now becomes captured
and Hunter Skarr gets paid.
Scenario
2 : Darth Sidious hires Jango Fett to kill Malik Carr.
He is not successful as Malik Carr kills him. Jango Fett
doesn't get paid and Malik Carr is still a free man. At
this point, unless Jango Fett convinces Darth Sidious
to give him another chance, Fett is fired and does not
continue to chase Malik.
Bartender/Shop
Keepers : Information
and drinks are his/her specialty. Basically this character
can be anything (Jedi, Sith, Bounty Hunter, etc.) since
he or she can be a decoy for a bigger plot. The bartender
is master of his cantina and others behave around him
because of the risk of being kicked out of his fine establishments
(and missing out on some good information!)
Force
Powers : Depends of the character's story but in general
it should be none (or Force Sensitive*).
Imperial Officer / Stormtroopers
: These characters should be somewhat feared from other
players since they are the law. Not to be ignored.
Force
Powers: None. (this includes Force Jump)
Senators/Political
Figures : These characters
are well known and keep a high profile. Corruption and
greed sometimes motivates them.
Force
Powers: None or Force Sensitive*.
Civilians
: This character is basically
a decoy for something else.
Force Powers: Depends on plot. Can also be Force Sensitive.
Thugs
(Smugglers, Thieves, Private Security, etc.):
What can I say about this class except act like one. This
character usually hangs out in the Cantina, waiting for
work.
Force
Powers: None or Force Sensitive*.
*
Force Sensitive: This player has a very raw and untrained
link to the Force.
