My Community Activities

Working with my own community.

c. Working with Auckland Cambodian Association
My family and I have supported this association financially to buy a centre and help strengthen this association to preserve Cambodian culture and religion. We have donated Cambodian school books for Khmer studies. My wife, her family and our friend Sam On Kim and his family have ordered a Buddha status from overseas and help the Association to maintain our Buddhist tradition. We led the community by offering ourselves to organise Buddha coronation ceremony, Banh Choss Seima, Karthin festival and all pchum bins arrangements. In the last three years this assocation has grown rapidly. The Prime Minister of New Zealaland, the Right Hon. Helen Clark has also visited our temple and have supported this association by helping us in recruiting monks from Cambodia for us.
