| These are my recommendations but Im sure there are a million places to get them. Many people reuse parts with success but you never know how bad they are until you get them apart. Please verify part number before ordering. I can't guarantee I'm 100% acurate.
Parts Part Numbers Description Qty Supplier D1040-103301 Fuel Return Line Plug 1 Plug Mercedesshop.com (604-070-02-55) (Mercedes Dealership) Hard to reuse the original. E1000-31910 Bosch Fuel Filter 2 or 3 Mercedesshop.com (74011) Bosch PN Make sure you get the Bosch so the electric heater fits. A couple spares is a good idea as well E1030 81362 Fuel filter o-ring 2 Mercesdeshop.com (601-997-01-48) (Mercedes Dealership) Need two if you want to replace E1000-81337 Pre-filter 2 Mercesdeshop.com (601 092 01 05) (Mercedes Dealership) Need one plus a spare E1030-81362 pre-filter o-ring 2 Mercesdeshop.com (601 997 01 48) (Mercedes Dealership) Need one plus a spare A8040-66852 Intake manifold gasket 2 Mercesdeshop.com (606-141-01-80) (Mercedes Dealership) I got this at the dealer because I was afraid of damage from shipping and it was only a couple dollars more. B5004-116364 EGR O-ring 1 Mercedesshop.com (606-997-06-45) (Mercedes Dealership) 3/8 ID Fuel Line 3/8 ID Fuel Line 15 Feet Ace Hardware They include some rigid tubing but it would be difficult to get it onto the barbs. It would also transfer a lot of vibration from the heat exchanger. Dont get the regular 3/8 fuel line it might collapse on itself under vacuum when warm and cut off you fuel supply. You either have to get high pressure fuel line (standard from Paul) or true value has thicker 3/8 fuel line than the automotive stores for some reason. I used the true value stuff since it seemed adequate and reasonably priced. Ive heard you can get some Viton hose but Im not sure where. 133A Permatex Anti-Seize 1 Tube Any auto store 20 Amp ATC Pig Tail Fuse 1 Fuse One Fuse You can get the Pig Tail fuse at this website. http://www.sportsimportsltd.com/afcarseathea.html Two 3 cm M6 Stainless screws for mounting the heat exchanger. The screws they provided were a bit short. You will also want a set of washers to go in between the heat exchanger and the black metal plate. This will prevent the heat exchanger from getting bent when tightening it down. Also some Lock-tite might be good to use on these screws Zerex G-05 Formula Coolant I or 2 gallons Any auto store If you do a full flush of the coolant system and dont reuse your old coolant you may need two. 603-078-01-41 Injector line clips (2-line) 3-5 Mercedes Dealership Some of these will be broken before you start and some will get broken so its hard to predict how many you need. This is the same for all of the fuel line clips. 601-078-26-41 Injector line clips 2-3 Mercedes Dealership 601-078-04-86 Injector "3-line" rubber shim for brackets Mercedes Dealership Will need to be trimmed to fit the lines in which only one or two lines are clamped. I didnt need any but incase you do here is the part number. 5330K22, 5330K32, 5330K31 Pinch Valve 1 valve Mc Master Carr Here are a few options from McMaster Carr if you dont want to drain your tank before connecting the new hose. I didnt have one but I wish I did. PB brake cleaner or B100 to clean out the intake manifold and any dirty components. Power Service Diesel Fuel Supplement (white bottle) Any auto store Power Service Diesel Kleen (Grey bottle) Any auto store I use the Fuel supplement to get rid of any residual water and provide a little extra power. The Grey bottle will provide more power but wont get rid of the water. Both have a bunch of other promises but Im not sure they have much value. You could also get some Diesel Purge or Seafoam to fill the fuel filter depending on your preference. Zip ties Painters tape 1.5-2 wide. TFE (Teflon paste) for high temp applications Pluming supply store or harware store This is used for all the fittings for the fuel and coolant. I also read some where to use Permatex #80631. I used something from home depot that had PTFE in it and met the temp requirements. I havent had any problems. Tools 606-589-00-90-00 Injector socket from the Merceded dealer B606-0053 12 x 1.25mm Extra Long threaded glow plug reamer bought at Mercedesshop.com they get it from Baum tools. | I keep the following in my car in case of a problem since I did not install the second fuel filter. A 19mm socket, a 10mm socket, a socket wrench, a 4 mm allen key, a fuel pre-filter, a fuel pre-filter oring and a main fuel filter. Some fuel to fill the filter would be good also since you won't be able to start because of all the air in the filter. |
