Friday January 30, 2004 DAY 4: DISCHARGE DAY!!!! Feeling so much better and so looking forward to going home. I ran into my surgeon in the hallway this morning while on a group walk with two of his other patients (non bariatric). But I did get a bit more sleep last night (I took half my sleeping pill). But I finally got released just after 2PM. I didn't go home until till after picking up my prescriptions, I wasn't going to climb my stairs twice today...no way. When I did finally get home all I basically vegged out. I did walk. My place isn't big, but I did my paces and ate my jello and drank 60 oz today. YEAH for Me!!!!
I must say, my overall experience was great. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't easy. At times it was a lot harder than I thought it would be. But my surgeon was brilliant at what he does. But his staff, from the surgery room, to recovery to my ward of post op patients, was beyond excellent. Everyone was friendly and understanding. They did everything possible to make me comfortable and care for me. Even the nurse aids were so sweet and helpful and lets not forget the student nurses, particularly Debbie. She was beyond sweet and took time to hang with me. some of the nurses did pop in to hang out because I was watching American Idol, so it was cool and comforting to have company at night. I would always recommend them and this hospital. I put my trust in their hands and they really took care of me. I hope everyone had or has as wonderful an experience as I did. |
