"Worth"

March 12, 2007 Monday 6:45 pm

Today, I made the intention and effort to spend time with God. I have been neglecting my "coffee time" with the Lord. Before, I would enjoy a cup of coffee and sit by the pond and meditate on Gods word. There were other times when I would bring my Bible and devotion material to my sisters higsh-school track early in the morning, do my devotions there and run around the track reciting my memory verse for the day.

My parents have "tea-time" with each other at the end of every day. They start their day together with a breakfast devotion with the family and wind down their day of tea with each other and discuss the events that happened that day. I thought that when I would be by myself that I would not do those things my parents taught me. In a way, the busyness and excuses I make up would cause me to decide to skip coffee time with the Lord. Today, I was tired of my own lame excuses and I was really craving that time.

After power-walking in the afternoon, I bought myself a cup of coffee and walked myself over to the pond. As I was walking to the pond, I saw a nickel on the pavement. I hesitated to pick it up, but then I remembered that my mom would have picked it up if it was her. I picked it up and examined it. I noticed that it was severely deformed but nevertheless looked liked a nickel. There were multiple scratches everywhere and the edges were rough. As I was looking at it, I thought that if I bought something with it and paid it to the cashier that it would still be worth something. That nickel helped me remember that time in my life when I was rough on the edges, scratched everywhere, and just beaten up by sin. The Lord still looked at me, picked me up, saw value in me, and offered me forgiveness. There were many times in my life when I thought forgiveness was not possible. I just had this fear that I wouldnt be forgiven for all the horrible things I did. Of course I learned about forgiveness ever since I was a child, but in my experience you never really learn anything until you experience what you are learning. God took time to look at someone like me and forgive me. I am grateful for that reminder in that beaten nickel. As I continue in that process of holiness, I am one day closer to perfection. I am not perfect now, but through the Refiners fire I am one day closer.

I'm watching... HEROES
Javee's Review posted January 14, 2007

I have been dying to see at least one episode of this show because of the reviews i have been hearing. Fortunately, I watched all episodes online and am now caught up! I cant wait till the season resumes on Jan 22. I am always fascinated with science and the story plot in this show is interesting. I was always wanted to know what was going to happen next. P.S. i'm also a fan of Hayden Penetierre (the cheerleader-because she was in "Remember the Titans")

Last vacation I took... Toronto, Canada!
Travel dates: Dec 22-Dec 27
Javee's Review posted January 14, 2007

Well, i actually didnt travel but spent Christmas in Toronto. However, Melvin was able to drive me around and see something interesting, the CN tower! Thank God we didnt get lost in Toronto! How can you get lost anyway? They have signs as big as DAYLIGHT! That's all you need if you're touring around, and some good and CLEAR directions, thanks to Cousin Melissa! Anyway, i was not disappointed, but we are planning on going back, of course!

I'm watching... UGLY BETTY
Javee's Review posted January 14, 2007

I wasn't expecting anything out of this show, but I really like the show because it's one of those "cheer for the underdog" type of show. America Ferreira is doing great in this role! Plus, i like the fact that it has a little bit of suspense, lots of COMEDY, and something to learn about everyday life at the end of the show. GO ON and watch it! It's nominated for a Golden Globe this year for Best Comedy! Furthermore, America Ferreira received best Actress in TV Comedy for the Golden Globes & Screen Actors Guild Awards

"So Simple"

(It could all be so simple, simple)

Don't need high heels
For a good feel
You can keep the fancy clothes
I'll take walkin in the rain
Over things material
I'll trade Melrose and the big names
Give me faces that I know
Just play a melody that everybody knows

Take it down, down, down
And strip it to the core
I don't really need much less is more, more, more

[CHORUS:]
True to life, true to me
The way it's got to be
So simple, so simple, so simple
Live to love, love to be
Absolutely free
(so simple, so simple, simple)

Give me wisdom, plain and truthful
Teach me somethin I don't know
Plain as education, inspiration I suppose (yeah yeah)
Give me family, on a Sunday
And I'll be just fine
There's nothing in the world
That's worth more of my time

Take it down, down, down
And strip it to the core
I don't really need much less is more, more, more

[CHORUS x2]

Livin my dream, is my song to the world
(let 'em hear it)
Sharin' my soul and spirit
I'm hopin that you hear it
Got one (one) life (life) to live (live)
It's only what you make it (make it)
Every new day's a chance worth takin
