Multiple files music

In Finnish - Suomeksi
Today music is stored on one track on vinyl or CD etc. Or two tracks if we think left and right channel of stereo. One track - one file in computer terms. But why not multiple files. Perhaps in the future all musical compositions or pieces of music are stored and sold in multiple files. This could have advantages:

Modern DVDs contain different voice tracks for different languages. You can switch the language from English to Spain or French. Why not use the same system on audio CDs? The listener could choose to hear the song in ones own language. Or the sex of the singer?

But why not give to the listener more freedom to choose. Why could he not himself choose some components - loops or guitars, brass etc. if he want. Interactive music - today you hear it in the background of games.

Future music could contain some random playing components. The musical computer, which is used to play future music files, could randomly add some components to songs. The piece of music you listen would be slightly different each time you listen to it.

Here some Java-applets which illustrates these views.

This Applet you just hear randomly ads loops to music.

JavaSourceCode

Applet where you can yourself play loops by pressing letter keys. Downloads 750 Kt audio files.

Applet where you can choose the language of music and name of the girl on lyrics - sorry the quality of music, this is only illustration of the principle.
