Internet Exploration and Review

Purpose:  The purpose of this assignment is for you to learn more about the Internet and about healthy activities in your daily life.

Equipment Needed: You will need access to the World Wide Web through a computer with a printer.  If you do not have this access at home and want to complete the assignment at school, please contact Mrs. Starks to make these arrangements.  You will also need a pen/pencil to complete the Web Site Record sheets.

Assignment:
· Open one of the Web Sites listed below.  Follow the directions included in the site’s description.
· Print the Web Page Record and complete it for each “link” on which you want to report.  Note: you may have to “go through” numerous links to get to an area with real information on it.  Report on the actual link that has information, not on the pages that are similar to a table of contents in a textbook.
· Write a one-page report about the Web Site you studied.  Include the following headings for each paragraph of your report:

o Site Description (be brief)
o Site Pluses – What did you like about this site?
o New Information – What did you learn?
o Questions – What would you like to know more about?
o Applications – Which information from this site will you use in your life?
Type this paper using a size 12 font, single-spaced with double spaces between paragraphs.  Include a Title Page with the name and address of the Web Site, your name, grade, and the date.

Questions:  If you have questions, at any time, during this assignment please feel free to contact Mrs. Starks at [email protected]
