In such films as The Hit, The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, Far From the Madding Crowd, and The Limey, Terence Stamp again displays his timeless vulnerability in contrast with the cool, hard and sometimes criminal lives he must play out.  As "Troy" in Far From the Madding Crowd, he is dashing, lustful, yet childlike.  "Troy" dishonors each woman he encounters,  yet  manages to convince us that he was seduced and betrayed by the idea of romance in the same way that he seduced and betrayed his women.
