Dear
Friends,
This
is a momentous time for the Czech Republic as it is about to join the
European Union. It is also an opportunity for us to invite fans and
enthusiasts of the art of magic from European countries to take part in a
great feast of magic and culture. This prestigious international meeting
will enrich each participant culturally, create new friendship and
stimulate mutual understanding.
In
our contribution, we will present M. S. Patrcka
(1787-1838), a founder of what probably was the first theatre of magic
arts in Europe. M. S. Patrcka is also recognized as the patron of Czech
magicians, and we also want to promote his recognition as a patron of
European magicians. Mr Patrcka’s memorial and his tomb are located in the
town of Jaromer, and this is the reason why this symbolic meeting is
taking place at this ancient town.
Not
only will the participants have the opportunity to enjoy four full days of
magic, shows, meetings of fakirs, variety shows, shows of European masters
of magic etc., they will also be able to visit theatres, attend concerts,
exhibitions, do sightseeing and take part in other entertaining programs.
The
Mayor of Jaromer will open up the town to the magic and will do everything
to make all participants feel at home. Please, feel welcome to come to the
town of Jaromer, feel welcome to come to the Czech Republic – the heart of
Europe. We are awaiting you with open arms.
