I recently had the pleasure of visiting the wonderful new downtown attraction, Petco Park. I went to go see the revamped Padres play the San Francisco Giants on Easter Sunday. The place was sold out, and we had shitty seats. I sat in the top-most row possible. No one could sit higher than we did. And I'm not joking. But it was still cool to see ballpark, what with its thousands of concession stands and $6.00 draft beer. So I took some pictures of the event. These are those very pictures. Sorry, but you have to click on the links, as my HTML proficiency is lacking proficiency, and the pictures are too big to fit in this window. Enjoy.
This is Joey from my floor. He's so crazy with his afro.
This is me when I was sick. Notice the kleenex.
Then I was better. Notice the lack of kleenex.
Dylan was acting like a dinosaur. It was the funniest thing ever.
Now on to Petco. Here's a view of the city from the top of the Park.
It's a nice park. I give it props, via thumbs up.
I tried to fit as much of the park into this shot as possible. I failed miserably.
The scoreboard showed me stats and whatnot. Here we see the lineups for the Giants and Padres.
Apparently, penthouses are available.
The fact that the Western Metal Supply Co building was incorporated into the park was really cool.
You can't see his name, but that's Barry Bonds up at bat. He was booed and didn't hit any homeruns, so I was happy.
The Padres scored some runs. Thus, I was happy.
The Giants then scored more runs than the Padres had scored, ergo, I was not happy.
Bottom of the ninth and the Padres are down? You know that means rally caps, folks.
How was the experience overall? Meh, I didn't have a terrible time, but the team could've won. The end. |
