BLUE -a member joins the Legion - RED -death of a Legionnaire - GOLD -Big Storyline

> Rokk Krinn, Imra Ardeen and Garth Ranzz save the life of industry tycoon,R.J. Brande, who convinces them to band together as a hero team. Cosmic Boy, Saturn Girl and Lightning Lad form the Legion of Super-Heroes and are officially deputized by the Science Police after solving the theft of the Quintile Crystal. Cosmic Boy is chosen by a computer as the team's first official leader.
> The Legion gains its first headquarters which is actually a rejected applicant named Fortress Lad.
> Triiplicate Girl and Phantom Girl join.
> Chameleon Boy, Colossal Boy and Invisible Kid join.
> Kid Quantum, Brainiac 5 and Laurel Gand join.
> Cosmic Boy, Saturn Girl and Lightning Lad travel back to the 20th century to invite the legendary Valor to join. They purposely cause him to fail his membership tests and reject him to see if he would take the rejection gracefully. He passes the true test and is admitted as a reserve member to be part of the team when he can visit them in the 30th century.
> Ultra Boy joins.
> Star Boy joins.
> Kid Quantum disappears and is presumed to be dead.
> Shrinking Violet and Sun Boy join.
> Bouncing Boy joins.
> Star Boy is injured and takes a temporary leave of absence.
> Matter Eater Lad joins.
> Lightning Lad dies while preventing a Khundish invasion led by Zaryan the conqueror.
> Valor is released from the phantom zone and becomes a permenant member when Brainiac 5 develops a cure for his lead poisoning.
> Polar Boy, Night Girl, Fire Lad, Stone Boy and Chlorophyll Kid are rejected for membership to the Legion and form their own team, the Legion of Substitute-Heroes.
> Jan Arrah joins the team as Mystery Lad at the request of Saturn Girl. After the team tracks down Roxxas the Butcher, the man who murdered the entire population of Trom, Jan takes on the code-name of Element Lad.
> Ayla Ranzz impersonates her deceased twin brother as Lightning Lad. She is discovered and joins the team as Lightning Lass.
> Chameleon Boy adopts a shape-changing Protean as his pet and names it Proty.
> Several Legionnaires perform a ritual which should revive their deceased team-mate, Lightning Lad, but at the cost of one of their own lives. Lightning Lad is revived but it was Chameleon Boy's pet, Proty, that sacrificed his life. In actuality, Lightning Lad was not revived but Proty's conciousness had been transferred into his body. Proty never revealed his presence in Lightning Lad's body to the Legionnaires.
> Dream Girl joins.
> Having foreseen the death of Lightning Lass, Dream Girl stages an incident which causes her powers to change and Lightning Lass becomes Light Lass. Dream Girl resigns.
> Bouncing Boy loses his power and has to resign, but becomes a reserve member.
> Ultra Boy, who has discovered that Glorith had manipulated the formation of the Legion, sets up a confrontation between Mordru and Glorith which decreases the power of both villains greatly.
> Brainiac 5 develops the Legion flight rings with an antigravity metal created by Valor.
> Dynamo Boy joins and expells the Legionnaires one by one. He then admits three adult members of the Legion of Super-Villains from the future onto the team before they strand him in the far future. The expelled Legionnaires then challenge the adult villains and win, sending them back to their own time to face justice.
> The Legion repels Mordru the Merciless' attack on Earth and Mordru is captured.
> Lightning Lad loses his right arm in a battle and receives a robot arm to replace it.
> Glorith attacks the Legion.
> Brainiac 5 creates a sophisticated living computer called COMPUTO. COMPUTO goes rogue attacking the Legionnaires and kills one of Triplicate Girl's bodies. She then becomes Duo Damsel.
> Star Boy is expelled from the Legion for accidently killing a criminal in self defense.
> Ferro Lad, Karate Kid, Nemisis Kid and Princess Projectra join.
> The Legion repel a Khundish attack on Earth and Nemisis Kid is discovered as a spy, but escapes.
> Doctor Regulus attacks the team and is defeated.
> Universo attempts to strand the Legion in the past but Rond Vidar saves them.
> The Time Trapper secretly divides the existing Legion members into two seperate beings and hides one set of duplicate Legionnaires in stasis at the Time Institute.
> Valor and Laurel Gand are forced to resign due to a radiation cloud which endangers them. They are replaced by the masked heroes, Sir Prize and Miss Terious, who are later found to be Star Boy and Dream Girl in disguise.
> The Hag attacks R.J. Brande at the instruction of Evillo and his Devil's Dozen.
> Star Boy, Dream Girl and Bouncing Boy rejoin after Bouncing Boy's power is restored. Lightning Lad's right arm is restored to flesh. The Devil's Dozen is defeated and the Hag is returned to her true form, the White Witch, who is also Dream Girl's sister.
> The Legion enlists the help of the galaxies most-wanted criminals to help repel the Sun-Eater. Ferro Lad sacrifices his life to destroy the Sun-Eater and the villains become the Fatal Five and escape.
> The Legion temporarily disbands at the insistance of Ferro Lad's ghost, which is actually a vision produced by the rogue Controller who sent the Sun-Eater to destroy Earth. The Legion bands together and defeats the Controller, who dies of a heart attack.
> The Legion is outlawed and many of them are imprisoned by the Earth President, who is revealed to be Universo. They are able to defeat him with the help of Rond Vidar.
> Shadow Lass joins the Legion to aid them in a battle against the Fatal Five, but the team's headquarters is destroyed, leading the them to get a new headquarters.
> The Dark Circle invades Earth and is repelled with the aid of the Miracle Machine.
> The Legion Academy is opened.
> Mordru is accidently freed from imprisonment and attacks the Legion. Ultra Boy, Duo Damsel, Shadow Lass and Valor escape into the past as Mordru is led to believe that he has killed the remaining Legionnaires who were saved by the White Witch aand Mordru is defeated when he is buried by a cave-in created by his own powers.
> Colossal Boy leaves the Legion and begins teaching at the Academy for Super-Villains due to blackmail from Tarik the Mute, who has kidnapped his parents. The Legion infiltrates the villain academy with help from Legion Academy students, Timber Wolf and Chemical King, and Colossal Boy helps them to close the academy as his parents are rescued.
