Tuesday [12.16.02] Come after school to join in the Holiday cheer! An incredible episode of Cowboy Bebop followed by the Love Hina Christmas Special! You'd be a scrooge to... not... go. Or something.
Starting from 12.4.02 Ramen sale is our fund raiser/activity that we do every year...helps us make some $$s...also, we show anime/movies so you can hang around and see those too...So drag your friends and come, even if you're not a big Ramen fan, eating some new food for lunch doesnt hurt, ne?
Fri[11.22] Mitsuwa Plaza's got a big 'ol grocery store, a food court (with Japanese and Korean food), a sushi bar, and a Kinokuniya Bookstore, with plenty of Japanese manga, artbooks, CDs, magazines, and other cool doo-dads. Just be sure to bring plenty 'o cash.
The main movie is Blood: The Last Vampire, a horror-action (heavy emphasis on bloody swordfighting) flick about a government agent in a sailor uniform who fights vampires. Sound silly? Well, at first it is, but then the blood starts to flow, and you better take it seriously. Also odd is that half the dialogue is in Japanese with subtitles, and the other is in pure English! Weird, but fittingly cool, as the story takes place at an American airbase in Japan. Oh, and Blood's short, only 48 minutes or so, and its story is underdeveloped, but the animation is uber-impressive. Before that though, is Episode 11 of Cowboy Bebop, Toys in the Attic. A fitting episode for the Halloween season, it pits Spike and the rest of the Bebop crew against a strange creature that's making everyone sick! Taking a page from Aliens, it's up to Spike and a bigass flamethrower to deal with the threat.
Thurs[10.10] In this samurai semi-spoof, Kurosawa teams Sanjuro, a crude but highly skilled warrior, with nine hopelessly naive samurai in a fight against clan corruption. Usually marveling at the ineptitude of his young conspirators and scratching his scraggly beard, the clever Sanjuro lies and cheats his way into freeing the town of the clan's fight. But don't let the black and white political drama scare you away, this is actually an amusing, odd little film, with a few cool fight scenes and really good dialogue. And it's all worth to see the bizarre, and violent ending.
