Datsun 100A, thatīs something.

This page is dedicated to my own car, a 1975 Datsun 100A. I bought my first Datsun in 1993 and since that I have always used the car but 1999 I chose to only use it at summer.

Nowadays when my brother has got a drivers license he has overtaken my "pearl" but itīs still very close to my heart, me and my friends have so many memories from the time when we cruised around with it and had so much fun.

Most people think that Datsun 100A is the ugliest and worst car ever made but I think it depends on which car you compare it with. I have driven over 150 000km with my datsun and I have never been disappointed.

I have renovated my Datsun in several phases and I am not ready yet, but still I think that I have proved (at least for myself) that itīs a very interesting car.

Even though many think itīs waste of time, I still havenīt built a datsun that I am completely satisfied with. If you want to see more about my future plans, click here to see visions of my ultimate racer.

A good thing with the Datsun is that they are very easy to work with and the engines are super, the 1,0l, 1,2l and the 1,4l are all built from almost the same engine and that makes it easy to install a bigger engine in your car. But donīt forget to update your brakes because the original brakes are pretty worthless at higher speeds.

Some factīs.....

Before my brother got his drivers license he renovated the engine because it had a strange tapping sound. When he took the engine apart he found four broken piston rings and one piston was in really bad condition. (I shall take a picture of the piston!!)

Some "experts" says that I have driven it with to much revs but I think that 7000+rpm is suitable for a datsun engine........

Last weekend (20.10.2001) Mathias took one of my tuned engines to our speedshop so next summer will be really exciting!!

Superengine specs: 1.4l engine with crankshafts and rods from 1.5l, modified piston, otherwise the valves would touch the pistons, 286 degrees Kent cam that lifts 11,16mm, compression 16,0:1 + much more..... it sounds great at higher revs!!!
