My name is Jan. What can I tell you about me? Like all of you out there, I have had my ups and downs along life's path. I guess this is what brings us all together. I view them as Life's Lessons to get us to where we are now. This site is created for you, my friends. It contains my thoughts, my interests and my feelings about the people I hold dear to me that I would like to share with all of you.


Music has always been a part of my life. I began piano lessons at the age of 7 and studied for four years. Being young, I guess I really did not appreciate how much learning an instrument could broaden my knowledge or bring me such pleasure.

In High School the desire to take piano lessons emerged in me again. But it was not possible for me to begin lessons again at that time. As I grew older, my time and money was taken up by other obligations like raising a family. But always in the back of my mind, I still had the desire to get back to learning piano again.

When my last child left "the nest" I had the room for a piano, the time to learn and the spare money for the lessons. I WENT FOR IT! I am now taking weekly lessons and enjoying the experience very much. It is a life long dream coming true.

Music, for me, soothes my mind, calms my inner being and helps me to focus on projects around the home. The oldies transport me back to an easier time I enjoyed in my younger days, and these songs help me to reminisce about years gone by.

My poetry was written sometime ago. Looking back, it was a time when I was at a "low ebb." I was a single parent raising three children, and fearing that I could not do my children the justice that they deserved. But they all came through (Thanks to God)!

Perhaps writting my thoughts through poetry was, in a way, a salvation. To place my inner most feelings that were deep in my soul on paper was theraputic, although I didn't realize this at the time. I hope you will enjoy reading them. �I share with all of you what was deep within me. Take it for what it is worth.
