Day 23. Envy is Mean. Envy.nu is not letting me check my E-mail. Or anything. It just has disappeared for awhile. It is being mean. Zavi had a great dream last night; you ought to go and read it. Today we lugged a bookshelf up from the garage and I organized my books. I have an entire shelf of W books (mostly due to P. C. Wrede, but still). I have so many books. I need to read them. I feel very . . . disorganized. I think I am worried about school. I need to forget about it. It is not worth worrying about. Bleh. We went to the Restaurant Russia tonight. They had live music, and it was great. Then we went to our coffeeshop and I had cheesecake, and Zavi had ice cream, and both tasted banana-ee even though they claimed there were no bananas in the proximity. Zavi put a penny and a note in a fake lion head on the wall. Have to sleep early tonight because of waking early tomorrow. Friday, September 07, 2001
Day 22. My Goose Emotes in the Specific Direction of Bread. We are watching a creepy movie with Christopher Walken. In it. Chris Walken isn't here. That would be creepy. We would make him play blocks. I bought something at "Gifts from Afar" that I can wear at Shrewsbury and it makes a pretty sound. I get really tired when I try to write entries in the blog. Tomorrow I'll try and remember to write in it early. But today was fun! I emote in the general direction of our coffeeshop! Thursday, September 06, 2001
Day 22. "I don't wanna be a butler. 'Cause pretty soon, there won't be any butlers left." Or something to that effect. I cheated and didn't do this last night, because I was feeling sick. I was freezing, then it was hot, and I was dizzy and sleepy. So I got some good sleep tonight (I think) and am feeling better. The quote was from "Dracula". It was bizzarre. Well, eh . . . I can't think what to say besides what Zavi already said about the TV studio, which is way cool. Umm. Yeah. Wednesday, September 05, 2001
Day 21. It's Been A Long Time Since I've Woken Up This Late. I stayed up last night and made some audition soundfiles. Which was nice. But I don't like waking up late, so that was icky. And then we went to see "Planet of the Apes," and there is a lot you could say about that movie, so I will leave it to somebody else. And we went to try to rent Rush Hour so we won't be totally lost when we see Rush Hour 2 tomorrow, but we couldn't find it so we got Andy Warhol's "Dracula" movie instead. We decided that we really need the Portland Armory place after all. We figured it out. The Oregon National Guard sold it to some place, who sold it to Gerding/Edlen, who have big plans to renovate it for, yes, office space! Whoohoo, that's just what an old castle/warehouse needs! Office space! All right! Which is why we need to rescue the Armory. Tuesday, September 04, 2001
Day 20. City of Books. Today we went to Powell's. Well, first we went to feed some more lovely ducks and geese at the community college. They were so hungry and so tame; I got to pet one of them. Petting birds is cool. It reminded me of the way Dorothy carries her chicken Belinda everywhere in "Return To Oz," and we watched that tonight after "Speaking Parts," in which Michael McManus is not dead. We also walked around and picked blackberries. Then we went to Powell's, and I bought three books ("Lud-in-the-Mist" by Hope Mirrlees, "Tam Lin" by Pamela Dean, and "Someplace to be Flying" by Charles deLint). I need to start making myself read my books, as I have shelves and shelves of unhappy, unread books. Then we had cake and ice cream to celebrate Damon Wayans's birthday, which is actually tomorrow (September 4th) which is now today. Monday, September 03, 2001
Day 19. I'm Beginning to Run Out of Titles. We had a party here today; a birthday party for my aunt and my former roommate. Good food and good conversation. Zavi discovered a TV studio that, well, just sounds too good to be true. It's in Oregon City. Across the street from the Medical Examiner's office, no less. I've noticed it before, but never quite wondered what it was. I've watched them film a movie in front of it (Night Ride Home). And now I totally want to go on a tour of it. We went for a walk after the party and fed some beautiful ducks and geese. Sunday, September 02, 2001
Day 18. I Can't Say I Really Remember What I Did Today. We stayed at home, so it was kind of unremarkable I guess. I played Final Fantasy 7 a little bit. We watched an episode of Star Trek, and Xena, and The Pretender, and Jerry. Oh, and I watched the Sparks win. I hate that. I hope everyone shuts up about L.A. I hope someone beats them someday soon. We played more M:TG and are really getting the hang of it. |
