Jann has built race cars, raced semi-professionally and worked in the auto sales retail business for many years. He has reviewed automobiles since 1969, and the first car he ever reviewed was a 1969 Ford Mustang Mach I for Country Senses Magazine. Since then he has reviewed automobiles in print, on radio and on TV. He is Boulder's only auto reviewer, and you can catch his TV reviews on Thursday nights at 8 pm on Jann Scott Live on Channel 54 in Boulder and at 10 pm on Channel 57 in Denver on Monday nights.
Soon we may stream Jann's auto reviews here.

Janns Denver Auto Show 2004 TV Special Playing for the past 6 months. Jann Scott Tonites 12th annual Denver Auto Show TV special covered 160 new autos in 2004. My auto show is seen on public television from New York to L.A. and especially here in Boulder and Denver. In my book, Toyota tops the list for the best cars in the world.
With that announcement and the condemnation of virtually all the other manufacturers in this column, the auto industry went to war with me. They lost. Im still alive and we made more money on our 2004 auto show than ever before. But one thing became clear - the auto industry is as corrupt as the Bush administration.
John Elway Ford here in Boulder told me that their allocation was threatened by none other than Miriam Thompson and Ford itself if they talked to me and you. Bill Barrow of the Colorado dealers association called me and told me that the manufacturers were so upset by what I had written that Volvo was going to sue me. Barrows asked me to write everybody a letter of apology to keep them off of his back. So I did and nobody ever sued me. But Volvo (owned by Ford) dealers in the Denver metro area lost millions of dollars in sales as a result of my review of their cars in this column and in the Daily Camera.
Wicked auto witch Miriam Thompson called the Camera and threatened their ad revenues if they continued to run my auto column. So the Camera yanked it denying they had ever received any coercion. But inside sources at the Camera told me that Ford, GM, Chrysler and Volkswagen all ganged up on the Camera and threatened them with withdrawn ad revenue. The Camera fought it, but finally decided that losing 35% of their ad revenue over me just wasnt worth it.
But the damage was done. Thousands of Boulder county residents had read my column in the Friday Camera. The more I investigated the auto industry the more corruption I discovered. It was and is endless. From shoddy craftsmanship in Volvos and Audis to financial losses at Ford, GM and Chrysler, the onslaught was never ending. The more I wrote, the more Auto chief tried to silence me. The more they did that the more I talked about them.
Saab started all this nonsense. The dangerous front wheel drive overturning in the turbo model was my first attack. Then came Chryslers worst financial performance in 30 years. The lug nuts broke on our Volvo because of poor steel. Volkswagens plastic drive parts came apart. I couldnt find a good car out there to save my life, except for Toyota. Of course Toyota loves me. But even if they didnt I think they still make the best cars in the world. Their cars are fairly priced, rarely break, and the company is the only profitable auto manufacturer in the world.
So what do I have to say to the rest of the Auto press and their manufacturers' keepers? Up yours!
