Practice for Solving Equations

This web page is for a class assignment at National University (EDT610).
Class Assignment:

Practice Solving Equations
Remember:
- The order of operations must always be observed.
- Work with the numbers furthest away from x first.
- To get rid of a number from one side, do the oposite of what is being done to it.
- Whatever you do to one side, you must do the same thing to the other side.
Solve for x:
- x + 7 = 10
- x - 5 = 2
- 5x = 30
- x/6 = 3
- 3x + 4 = 28
- 4x - 2 = 14
- 2 + x = 21
- -3 + x = 12
- 1 + 2x = 45
- x/7 - 3 = 2
- x(5 + 3) = 80
- 12x - 4 = 140
- x/2 + 8 = 11
- x - 3 - 2 = 9
- 6x = 7 - 1
