BENNETT:
Charles Oliver Bennett (1848-1914) & Lavinia Azalean Coleman (1851-1927) married in Cannon County, TN in 1872. His parents were Micajah Tippet Bennett (1820-1882)and Martha S. Palmer(1822-1848) of Wilson Co. Martha died and Micajah married widow, Nancy Irby Tarver in 1849. Lavinia's parents were Francis Coleman & Sarah Caroline Thompson.
She was born in Cannon County. Ollie & Lavinia moved to Collin Co., TX before 1880 & are in Cottage Hill Cemetery there. In the larger of the photos (above & right) are two of their four children, Ella and Clyde Oliver.

Far right: Charles Ira Howard and Emma Lenora Bennett Howard. Emma Lenora was the eldest daughter of Charles Oliver and Lavinia. She was born in Woodbury, Tennessee in 1873 and died in 1959 in Collin County, Texas. The photo was taken prior to 1944 in Collin County. Both are buried in the Scott Cemetery, west of McKinney. BOONE & YARBROUGH:
Erin Mavorne and sister, Inez Cleone Boone (by tree) ca 1903 in Parker County, Texas were children of William Boone and Amanda Jane Freeman who married in Tarrant Co., TX in 1876. He died June 7, 1937 - she on June 8, 1938. Their children: Lois d.in 1907; Inez, b.1884, d.1933 ; Erin, b.1879 died in 1957; Ernest Justice b. 1882, d. 1927; Jerome Haroldson b. 1888 d. 1946; Gladys Ellen died in infancy; and William Floyd b. 1892, died in 1969.
(Above left) The eldest of Theodore and Inez's eight children in 1913: Florence Jane (left)(1906-1994); Erin Mary (center) (1913-1985); and Boone Yarbrough, with golden curls, (1908-1998).In the center above are Theodore (right rear) and his two sisters, Grace, left and Vernie, right. Alexander
Freeman married 'July' Ann Boswell 26 December
1826 in Tennessee. Both were born in Kentucky - he in 1795
and she in 1808. Alexander had previously been married to a
Rebecca. In 1846 Alexander left for the Mexican War and died
sometime before 1848.

Mary Thacker (1827-1902). Walter and Nannie were the
parents of seven children.

Freeman, son of William Walter and Nannie. Alex
L. was born in 1870 and married Winnie Drew in 1897. They
farmed until his death in 1934 and had seven children. Winnie
(near right) was the daughter of Jesse Drew. She outlived
Alex by 21 years, dying at 86 in 1965.

Winnie. She married Thurman Maxwell.

Matison R. Freeman & Julia Ann Sivley:
Matison R. Freeman (left with second wife, Julia) was the third son of Alexander Freeman and July Ann Boswell. He was born February 23, 1838. He first married Amanda Nolen in 1859. They parented two children before their separation and divorce in 1865, and one son, Madison, was living with Amanda in the 1880 Harrison County, Texas census. She had married William Munden in 1866.
Matison married Julia Ann Sivley ca 1868, and they appear on the 1870 census in Logan County, Kentucky with two sons, William (b. 1868) and John (b. 1870). Julia Ann Sivley was the neice of July Ann Boswell, her husband's mother, and thus, Matison R. and Julia Ann are first cousins. By the time of Julia Ann Sivley Freeman's death in Chattanooga, Tennessee in 1880, she and Matison had four children. The photo at left is probably a wedding picture taken ca 1868.
Julia's mother, Sallie Boswell Sivley and husband, George Sivley, were the recipients of a postcard bearing the portrait of William Freeman and his scribbled note. The postcard appears on the William Freeman/Jane Ferguson page at this website.

MATTHEWS, TAYLOR, & McCOY
Left: John Matthews, Sr. was born 1789 in South Carolina. He married three times, but his 14 children were with his second wife, Elizabeth 'Betsey' Harris, (b North Carolina 1787, d. Union Parish, Louisiana 1847. The date of the photo at left is unknown but before John's death in Union Parish, LA in 1859.
His and Elizabeth's children were: Winifred, Thomas, Ann, Andrew Jackson, Mary, John Thompson, Martha, Joseph Beck, Frank Baker, James, Sarah, Nancy, Talitha, and Benjamin - born between 1811 and 1832.
John's daughter, Winifred Matthews (1813-1872) married Alexander Marion Taylor(1807-1861) in October of 1829 in Union Parish. Their daughter, Emiline Independence Taylor, pictured below was born the Fourth of July, 1853. She married Stephen McCoy (below) in Union Parish in October 1872.
Right: Stephen & Emma McCoy and eight of their 11 children. Three died in infancy. The photo was taken in 1911, shortly before Stephen's death in January 1912. Stephen's parents were David S.McCoy (1818-1892 )& Nancy Dollar (1828-190? )from Alabama.
The children: Back l to r: John Robert, Velma, Will, Fannie, Ernest, and Dorcie. Front l to r: David E., Emiline, Stephen, and the youngest, Lavada. All were raised in Collin County, Texas.
Another child of David & Nancy Dollar McCoy was daughter, Alice McCoy (below left), b. in 1865 in Union Parish, LA. Alice was married thrice and died in 1938 in Bonner Springs, Kansas. The elder woman in the black dress is Dorcie McCoy Bennett, great granddaughter of John Matthews, Sr. The center picture, ca 1894 is Dorcie as a teen.
