The Jaguar has no fixed breeding season. Females are ready to mate at 3 years old. The females are pregnant for about 100 days.

Jaguars have their kittens in a den, in the rocks or in dense brush. The females can have 2-4 kittens a litter. The kittens are heavily marked with black spots not black rings as the adults have. The family stays together until the kittens are one year old. The life expectancy of a Jaguar is 20 years.
