Their range of prey includes such forests and river animals as pigs, sloths, fish, and even small alligators! Animals range from the size of mice, to deers. Jaguars are also especially skilled at catching fish with its paws.
Jaguars hunt mainly on the ground and stalk their food. However they will climb trees to lie and wait for prey. They hunt at night mostly often to surprise its unsuspecting prey. When it is captured, the Jaguar will bite through the bone of the skull with its extremely sharp teeth. Unlike other cats who will bite the neck of their prey to kill.
The Jaguars spotted coat make it easier to stay hidden to wait for prey in the underbrush.
