James F. Bass, son of John Bass and Delaney Taylor, was born 5 Feb 1807 LA and died ca. 1855 reportedly drowning in the Calcasieu River. He married Emily "Millie" Groves 26 Jan 1826 St. Landry Parish LA and 10 children were born. Millie was born ca. 1805 LA, daughter of James Groves, Sr. and Mary Nash, and she died ca. 1861-70 Rapides Parish, LA. James was buried on the levee near the accident site in what was later to become the Mayo Cemetery. Emily was buried in the Wales Cemetery (now Union Grove) near Leesville, LA, in an unmarked grave.

Mary Elizabeth Nash, probably in Rapides Parish, LA. and twelve children were born. Mary was born in 1830 in Louisiana and died in 1893 and is buried in Wisby Cemetery, Pitkin, Vernon Parish, LA. The death for Josiah Bass is somewhat confusing because Elizabeth was listed as a widow in the 1880 Vernon Parish Census, and Josiah was not located elsewhere. However in 1900, the Vernon Parish Census listed Josiah Bass being born Apr 1827, living with his son.

Mary married James Bunch, probably in Rapides Parish, LA and five children were born. James was born 24 Mar 1815, Bertie Co. NC and died 21 Jan 1887 in Vernon Parish, LA. Mary died 16 Mar 1880 in Vernon Parish, LA. and are buried in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Vernon Parish, LA.

John Jackson Bass was born in Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana and died 8 Jan 1906 in Louisiana. On 24 Apr 1862 he enlisted in the Confederate Army and was discharged three months later on 5 Jul 1862. Apparently, John changed his allegence and on 23 Apr 1864 in Alexandria, Va, he joined the Union Army along with his neighbor William Smith who had married John's cousin Emeline Bass.

4. Amelia " Millie" Bass was born in Louisiana. She married
William Burton Wales, Sr. ca. 1856 and twelve children were born. William was born ca. 1830 in Louisiana and died in 1888. Millie died 16 Aug 1909 in Vernon Parish, LA. The The death and burial for Millie and Wiiliam is unknown.
