| Many States have strict leash laws. Pet access is also limited in National Parks and State Parks but is generally unrestricted in National Forests and Bureau of Land Management land. There are lots of reasons why you would want to keep your dog on a lead; busy roads, alligators, rattle snakes, cacti, scorpions, bears, coyotes and mountain lions, but, there are equally many times when the leash laws seem nonsensical and punitive. |
