The Grand Canyon is absolutely breathtaking. The sheer size and deepness of it is awe inspiring and there are a million different colours. If you can look past the commercial exploitation that goes on there, the Canyon truly is one of the seven natural wonders of the world.

Whilst we were there Liz did two weeks work experience with the Re-Vegetation crew which enabled us to make friends quickly and attend some parties. It also gave Liz a deeper insight into the way National Parks in America are run, hard to believe that although the Re-Vegetation crew do such important work their budget for next year is likely to be cut. This just goes to show where some American's priorites lie. The commercial department is seen as being far more important than Re-Veg.
Liz gained an even deeper insight into the Canyon when she hiked down it (even though she had a hangover from hell). This is a must for all of you who are not scared of heights. I stayed mainly on the Rim and explored most of the South side. Instead of words describing the place just look at the amazing photographs.
After six weeks in Arizona we said a sad farwell and made our way, past the Hoover Dam, to Nevada.
