SLUMS IN CITY

No one would like to live in slums. It is their helplessness. Who would not like to have a descent home?

Every human being has a right to earn for his/her maintenance. Those who do not find resources to earn descent emoluments rush to cities. In the place where they belong, live in huts and slum like environment. So living in slums in cities is no obstacle for them. Moreover, if it is an obstacle for some of them necessity makes them adopt the slum environment. Hence, demolition of slums is no solution for improving or beautifying a city or town. This is simply inhuman.

It is a responsibility of the employer to ensure good environment for the employees. Companies make huge profits simply because they never take responsibility of their employees. Mahatma Gandhi never expected this. There is an urgent necessity to study this problem considering the slum dwellers are our own relatives, brothers and sisters. Employers must own them. Be it a private firm or multinational or Government. There can be many solutions. I offer one for thinking process to start.
