Iceland received an icy hand from fans following their low key final. Despite everyone gunning for Runa (though not literally, the shooting of Icelandics is considered illegal in at least 85% of participating ESC countries), Angel is the song that will reverse the colours of the Norwegian flag on May 12.
After an insistence by their homeland bosses that the song remain in its original Icelandic as Birta, 'artistic temperaments' has led to this rule being relaxed. Birta will now go out as Angel on the night.
It's a decison which has increased its chances twenty-three fold. I don't think it'll win, but this could very well shimmy its way into the Top Ten. If all else fails, it could very easily be the next Ronan Keating single.
HEARD-IT: Yup, and in English too. It's not unlike what you'd hear on a lot of Saturday moening chart shows, but because it has that all-damaging ESC tag, musos will instantly say it's a pile of guacamole.
