Title: Missing a Step
Author: Jami Lynn
Chapter: 13
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the wrestlers used in this story, 'cause if I did, I'd be busy with them right now *grin* And not a single butt cheek of theirs belongs to the WWF, to the WWE yes...but not the WWF. But I do own Jami, for she is me. Tasha owns herself. Charity owns herself and if you try to take any of us, you will burn in hell! This is the next story in the Step series...it's the Edge/Tasha sequel. And the address to the stories is at the bottom of this email. And I use the wrestlers wrestling names in the story, JUST DEAL WIT IT! And don't bother suing me...all you'd get is a half eaten ham sandwich and a bag of chips from 2 years ago. And Amanda, aka Phoenix, is not a bitch in real life. She's actually a very nice girl. =) She's just a bitch in this story for my purposes *L* So, no bashing real Amanda.
Distribution: Ask me if you can use it, more than likely I will say yes.
Rating: So far, it's a PG-13
Content: Nothing bad as of yet, probably won't be anything to bad either....maybe some cussing.
Spoilers: Just making things up as I go.
Summary: Can Jami and Tasha deal with Phoenix being in the WWE?
Feedback: I need feedback like I need air! So give it to me, babee! I have been suffocating lately....so please, send in the feedback.

Jami made her way through the pounding dance floor, as other dangers gyrated one way and grinded in the opposite direction. The bodies a swirling mass of heat and sweat. All moving in so many directions at once that you couldn't tell what arm or leg belonged to what body.

Jami pushed her way through the crowd, struggling to find the table she had been out moments earlier. Finally she saw where her coat was and wandered in that direction.

She threw herself into the both, trying to catch her breath. She downed her drink quickly, feeling dehydrated. Then she placed the glass on her forehead to soak up the cool feeling.

Her eyes scanned the room, finally finding where Charity, Rob and Jeff had just came in. She waved them over, struggling to her feet. "Hey, bout time you guys showed up. The party got started without you...sorry." Jami giggled.

"Been drinking already?" Jeff asked dryly. "I only had ONE drink. So I'm not drunk. I think it's the lack of oxygen in this place." Jami laughed at him.

Charity looked at her oddly before she threw herself down in the booth. Rob slid in next to her while Jami and Jeff slid in across. "So, did you find Amanda yet?" Charity asked, signaling a passing waitress to bring them some drinks.

"No, it's weird. I went to this flea bit hotel where she was suppose to be at. And the room she was in was totally unlike all the other rooms. It was all neat, clean and new looking. There was a card on there telling me that the chase was more fun. So I will probably be hearing from her later." Jami shrugged her shoulders.

"How long have you been here?" Jeff asked about the music. "An hour or so. I came straight here after calling you...and i've just been going back and worth from dancing to resting over here and drinking." Jami told him.

Rob stood up and motioned for Charity to come with him. "You wanna go back out and dance?" Jeff asked. Jami shook her head, "Not yet, you go. I'm going to head over to the ladies room and open the window to get some air. I'll find you in a few." Jami told him. Jeff nodded and gave her a kiss before taking off into the maze of bodies.

Jami once again struggled to her feet, feeling a bit woozy as she stood. She slowly made her way to the bathroom, following the signs that pointed the way. The sign led to some stairs that were going down to the basement level.

She wondered down the stairs, stumbling a little bit. 'There must have been more alcohol in that drink then I was aware of.' she thought to herself as she continued her treck.

She held onto a railing and ducked down a bit to see what the stairs were leading to. The lights were awfully dim and she couldn't see much of anything. She had the creepy notion that someone was watching her. She shivered slightly, but continued on her way down.

Her head was spinning and she felt like she was about to be sick at any second. She stood on the last step and gripped the railing in a death grip.

"Oh, is little Jami feeling sick?" she heard a voice call out but she couldn't make out from which direction. Finally she saw Amanda step out from the shadows but before she could say much, she slumped down onto the stairs, unable to control her body.
