Title: Missing a Step
Author: Jami Lynn
Chapter: 12
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the wrestlers used in this story, 'cause if I did, I'd be busy with them right now *grin* And not a single butt cheek of theirs belongs to the WWF, to the WWE yes...but not the WWF. But I do own Jami, for she is me. Tasha owns herself. Charity owns herself and if you try to take any of us, you will burn in hell! This is the next story in the Step series...it's the Edge/Tasha sequel. And the address to the stories is at the bottom of this email. And I use the wrestlers wrestling names in the story, JUST DEAL WIT IT! And don't bother suing me...all you'd get is a half eaten ham sandwich and a bag of chips from 2 years ago. And Amanda, aka Phoenix, is not a bitch in real life. She's actually a very nice girl. =) She's just a bitch in this story for my purposes *L* So, no bashing real Amanda.
Distribution: Ask me if you can use it, more than likely I will say yes.
Rating: So far, it's a PG-13
Content: Nothing bad as of yet, probably won't be anything to bad either....maybe some cussing.
Spoilers: Just making things up as I go.
Summary: Can Jami and Tasha deal with Phoenix being in the WWE?
Feedback: I need feedback like I need air! So give it to me, babee! I have been suffocating lately....so please, send in the feedback.

"Jami, you aren't going to go and face that woman alone. You can't. You'll get nuts on her or something." Charity said. Jami didn't answer but asked a question in turn. "How is Tasha?"

"Well, she's hanging in there. She's awake. The only thing she can remember was reaching the door of Stephanie and Shane's office and then everything going black. She can't say who the person was who attacked her or anything." Rob told them.

Jami turned her eyes to look at them, and they all noticed they had turned a cold brown color. "I'll be back." was all Jami said.

Jami quietly moved through the dimlit hotel hallways. She could feel her heart catching in her throat, makign her afraid to inhale or exhale to deeply. Afraid she might swallow it.

The hotel was not one to be proud of. There were holes in the carpets that lined the hallways and dead bugs that gathered along the wall. The paint was peeling from the walls and the doors had dents in them from where previous wanders had hit the door with to much force.

The entire hotel smelled slightly like urine and blood, not a smell she wanted to be smelling right then. This was the sort of hotel you saw in horror flicks, or cheap pornos. But she knew this was where Amanda (Phoenix) would be.

The numbers on a few of the doors had fallen off, leaving a rusted stain on the door from where they had been. She was looking for a room she had been told by Christian that Amanda was in. Waiting. Amanda knew she was coming. She'd be prepared.

Finally she found the door number that matched the piece of paper in her hand. Jami did a doubletake when she saw the door. It was different from the rest. It was a more solid wood door, newly stained. The numbers on the door was a rich gold color, bigger than the others.

Jami reached out to grasp the new gold door handle, to let herself into the room. It would be unlocked. Amanda would make sure she could get in.

Jami entered the room that was ablaze with lights. This wasn't the type of room she was expecting. It had two huge beds with a nightstand seperating them. The beds looked really comfy. there was a huge dresser to one side, a mirror over-looking it.

A small white card was propped up on the desk with Jami's name on it. Jami smirked to herself, she should have known that Amanda wouldn't show up.

Jami opened the card.

Jami,
How nice of you to show. Unforunately, I didn't want to meet up with you yet. See...the chase is so much more fun.
Phoenix.

Jami crumbled the card up and threw it on the floor, before leaving the room and then the hotel. As soon as she was outside, she flipped her cell phone open and dialed Jeff's number.

"Want to meet me at the club? Bring the others too." she purred into the phone. Then she flipped it shut and made her way to the club.
