Title: Learning the Steps
Author: Jami Lynn
Chapter: 20
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the wrestlers used in this story, 'cause if I did, I'd be busy with them right now *grin* And not a single butt cheek of theirs belongs to the WWF, to the WWE yes...but not the WWF. But I do own Jami, for she is me. Tasha owns herself. (Heaven help the person who tries to claim he/she owns either of us). Charity owns herself and if you try to take her you will burn in hell! This is the next story in the Step series...it's the Matt/Lita sequel. And the address to the stories is at the bottom of this email. And I use the wrestlers wrestling names in the story, JUST DEAL WIT IT! And don't bother suing me...all you'd get is a half eaten ham sandwich and a bag of chips from 2 years ago.
Distribution: Ask me if you can use it, more than likely I will say yes.
Rating: So far, it's a PG-13
Content: Nothing bad as of yet, probably won't be anything to bad either....maybe some cussing.
Spoilers: Um...anything can happen and I'm just writing as I go, so I don't know yet *L*.
Summary: Who is this Phoenix? And what does her presence in the WWE mean to Jami and Tasha.
Feedback: I need feedback like I need air! So give it to me, babee! I have been suffocating lately....so please, send in the feedback.

Jami sat in Shane McMahon's temporary office at the arena, waiting for Shane. When he entered his office, he gave her a twisted grin as he saw Jami sitting at his desk, leaning back in his chair, her feet up on his desk.
"You know Shane, you should really lock your office when you leave." Jami smiled innocently at him. "I did lock it Jami." Shane told her, throwing a pair of keys down on the desktop.
"Oh, then I must have picked the lock. My bad." Jami shrugged casually, as she set her feet on the floor, still leaning back in the chair.
"What do you want Jami?" Shane asked with a deep sigh. "Why did you hire her?" Jami asked. "Hire who?" Shane asked, confused. "Phoenix." Jami stated as if it were obvious.
"She applied for a job, she was a decent wrestler, and she's Christian's girlfriend." Shane ticked off the answers on his fingers. "Do you know where she lived before now?" Jami asked again.
"Jami, that's confidential information, I can't just give that out to you." Shane told her, rubbing his head. "She's from Iowa, isn't she Shane?" Jami asked, standing up.
Shane looked at her, the questions building in his eyes. "Why?" he asked hesitantly. Jami leaned forward, resting her palms on the desk surface. "Because....let's just say, that she will do anything to destroy me." Jami whispered, before leaving the room.

Jami walked into the locker room to find Tasha pacing the floor, her hand worriedly raking her hair. "Tash? You okay?" Jami asked, dropping her wrestling gear into a pile.
"Did you find out why she is here?" Tasha asked. "Who?" Jami asked, trying to look innocent. "Oh, cut the shit. Amanda...Phoenix...whatever the hell she is calling herself these days." Tasha spat out.
Jami sighed as she sat down on the bench. She pulled on a tennis shoe and as she was tying it she spoke, "I talked to Shane. Phoenix can wrestle, he said, and is Christian's girlfriend. That's all he would tell me."
"Did you tell him about her? About our past with her?" Tasha asked, grabbing Jami's other shoe out of her hand, so she was forced to look at her. "No, I didn't. Just said she would try to ruin me. Now can I have my shoe back?" Jami asked.
Tasha acted like she hadn't even heard the last part, just started to pace back and forth, a frustrated look on her face. "This is so surreal. I cannot believe this. Must everyone or everything in our past come back and haunt us?" Tasha cried out.
Jami walkd over to her, grabbing her tennis shoe out of her hand. "Damn girl, chill. We gotta remain collected. We gotta figure out a way to get her out of here. For good." Jami muttered.
