Title: Don't Take That Step
Author: Jami Lynn
Chapter: 19
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the wrestlers used in this story, 'cause if I
did, I'd be busy with them right now *grin*. But I do own Jami, for she is me.
Tasha owns herself. (Heaven help the person who tries to claim he/she owns
either of us). Charity and Mags also own themselves and if you try to take them
you will burn in hell! This is the next story in the Step series...it's the Jami/Jeff
sequel. And the address to the stories is at the bottom of this email. And I use
the wrestlers wrestling names in the story, JUST DEAL WIT IT! And don't bother
suing me...all you'd get is a half eaten ham sandwich and a bag of chips from 2
years ago.
Distribution: Ask me if you can use it, more than likely I will say yes.
Rating: So far, it's a PG-13
Content: Nothing bad as of yet, probably won't be anything to bad
either....maybe some cussing.
Spoilers: Um...anything can happen and I'm just writing as I go, so I don't know
yet *L*.
Summary: Jami needs help to recover, but will she get it?
Feedback: I need feedback like I need air! So give it to me, babee! I have been
suffocating lately....so please, send in the feedback.

After a moment of silence the doctor moved first and went after his distraught
patient. Jeff stepped forward to go after Jami too, but instead found himself
running straight into the Undertaker, who had stepped up to block his way.
"Now the way I see it, that girl is running away from you, not to
you." Undertaker stated. "But she's my wife! i have a right to go
after her!" Jeff angerily said.
Undertaker cracked his knuckles. "You have and I suggest you take the right
to remain silent and sit your ass down. If you follow her then I'll have to go
find her later and help that little girl pick up the pieces of her shattered
heart. And I really hate to see that baby girl cry. And if you make her
cry...well, even though I like you Jeff...I'll have to kill you."
Undertaker told him.
Jeff stared at him for a few minutes before he finally took a seat. Tasha was
immediently at his side. "Jeff, one thing you should know is that in Jami's
mind, what she did was completely rational." "yeah, but in my
mind...it wasn't." Jeff muttered

Matt eased himself quietly down the hallway, looking for the room he had
overheard that Jami was in. He was being extremely careful to not be seen, for
no one had been granted permission to see Jami.
He quietly slipped into her room to see her sitting on the bed, one leg bent so
she could rest her hands on top of her knee. Her chin was gently resting on her
hand. Jami's eyes were watching the TV screen, where the movie, "The
Patriot" was playing.
Jami never looked over at Matt, and he thought that his presence had gone
undetected. So he watched her through careful eyes. Jami's eyes were intent on
the images before her. Her face was pale. He could see that her eyes were red
rimmed from crying so much.
"The movie seems like a metaphor for my own life." Jami whispered.
Matt's eyes widened in shock, but Jami continued before he could speak.
"Like...how the British armies fight. They march into the battle as if they
didn't see the men shooting at them. As if they don't know what's coming. I kept
all my thoughts a secret to try and prevent war between all of us. And I go
walking blindly into a war where not only are we fighting each other, but we are
fighting ourselves as well. And just the way I watch the movie. I know what's
about to happen, but I'm still shocked by it. I saw what was going on with me
and how everyone would react. especially Jeff. But when it happened I was still
shocked by it though. I cry at the sad parts even though some would say I
shouldn't be saddened over it after all this time. But I always do cry and feel
like I'm dying." Jami said.
"Do you mean you cry at the sad parts of the movie...or the sad parts in
your life?" matt asked. "both." Jami whispered, looking at him
for the first time.
