Title: Don't Take That Step
Author: Jami Lynn
Chapter: 17
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the wrestlers used in this story, 'cause if I
did, I'd be busy with them right now *grin*. But I do own Jami, for she is me.
Tasha owns herself. (Heaven help the person who tries to claim he/she owns
either of us). Charity and Mags also own themselves and if you try to take them
you will burn in hell! This is the next story in the Step series...it's the Jami/Jeff
sequel. And the address to the stories is at the bottom of this email. And I use
the wrestlers wrestling names in the story, JUST DEAL WIT IT! And don't bother
suing me...all you'd get is a half eaten ham sandwich and a bag of chips from 2
years ago.
Distribution: Ask me if you can use it, more than likely I will say yes.
Rating: So far, it's a PG-13
Content: Nothing bad as of yet, probably won't be anything to bad
either....maybe some cussing.
Spoilers: Um...anything can happen and I'm just writing as I go, so I don't know
yet *L*.
Summary: Something is seriously wrong with Jami!!! But what is it?
Feedback: I need feedback like I need air! So give it to me, babee! I have been
suffocating lately....so please, send in the feedback.

Jami slowly opened her eyes and winced at the blinding lights. "Jami...can
you hear me?" a doctor asked, flashing a small bright light into her eyes.
"yes." she gasped. "Jami, my name is Dr. Hunter. Do you know
where you are?" Jami started to nod but the movement caused pain to flash
through her body. "Hospital." she spat out. Dr. Hunter nodded his
head. "do you know why you are here?" the doctor asked as his hands
prodded at her body. "no." Jami said through clenched teeth.
"You were in the ring, getting ready to face another female wrestler and
you passed out. Your friends remembered that you had been taking some pills,
what you had told them was tylenol. They went and found appetite supressants and
weight loss pills, along with a journal recording your weight loss." Dr.
Hunter paused when he heard Jami groan.
"Does this hurt/' he asked, again pressing on her stomache. "No, what
you said hurt." Jami told him.
"We did blood tests and found high levels of those drugs in your system. We
weighed you and Jami, you barely weighed eighty four pounds. We know your
wrestling weight is one hundred and ten pounds. you're body didn't have enough
nutrients to let you keep going. That's one reason you collapsed. The other is
that by mixing the pills around you managed to accidently overdose."
Jami closed her eyes as the information sunk in. "Your husband, sister and
friends are out in the waiting room. Would you like to see them?" Dr.
Hunter asked. "No...no! Please!!" Jami begged.
"May I ask why?" the Doctor asked. "Because, they will be furious
at me and hate me." Jami told him. "No they won't. They have been
sitting out there waiting for you to wake up and be okay." Dr. Hunter told
her.
"No, you don't understand. As soon as they realize that I'm okay, they'll
hate me. They'll make me wish I had killed myself." Jami said, tears
spilling out her eyes.

Dr. Hunter walked over to Jeff. "Mr. Hardy, your wife is awake now. She
admits to using the appetite supressants and weight loss pills." Jeff
nodded, "can we see her?" he asked.
The Doctor hesitated for a second before answering, "No." as soon as
that word was out of his mouth, Jeff was in his face. "Why not?"
"Mr. Hardy, please calm down. This is exactly why you maynot see her. I
asked her if she wished to see any of you and she said no. That she was afraid
you would all hate her. That you would make her wish she had killed herself. I
can't let that fear turn out to be right. Mr. Hardy, there is something I need
to explain to you." Dr. Hunter told him, gently pushing him down into his
seat.
Jeff looked at him coldly, a furious glare in his eyes. "What?"
"Your wife, she didn't chose this path for herself. I want you to
understand this. I have been in contact with her former doctors. They have
filled me in on all her past history. To me, it sounds like she let a bunch of
things build up. Finally, it overcame her and this is how she controlled her
life. She's very unstable right now. Both physically and mentally. your wife
weighs only eight four pounds right now. That's about 25 pounds underweight.
This isn't just a simple problem. And if anything, I need your cooperation to
help Jami. And if you are going to blow up at her, then you won't be helping her
at all." the doctor explained to him.
Jeff looked at him for a minute, processing this information. Finally he stood
and began to walk out of the hopsital waiting room. "Fuck this." he
mumbled as he left.
