Title: Even Angels Fall
Author: Jami Lynn
Chapter: 25
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the wrestlers used in this story, 'cause if I did, I'd be busy with them right now *grin*. But I do own Jami, for she is me. Tasha owns herself. (Heaven help the person who tries to claim he/she owns either of us).  And I use the wrestlers wrestling names in the story, JUST DEAL WIT IT! And don't bother suing me...all you'd get is a half eaten ham sandwich and a bag of chips from 2 years ago.
Distribution: Ask me if you can use it, more than likely I will say yes.
Rating: So far, it's a PG-13
Content: Nothing bad as of yet, probably won't be anything to bad either....maybe some cussing.
Spoilers: Um...anything can happen and I'm just writing as I go, so I don't know yet *L*.
Summary: New Story
Feedback: I need feedback like I need air! So give it to me, babee!

Jaylynn wearily followed Shane McMahon into his penthouse. She felt her muscles relax, feeling safe again for the first time since...well, since she had stopped staying in the penthouse.

"Make yourself comfortable. I'll fix us a drink. It'll help relax you." Shane told her, leading her over to his couch. Jaylynn nodded numbly, watching as Shane fixed two drink. Jaylynn gratefully accepted one from him, taking a sip. It gave off a gentle warmth as it traveled to her stomach.

Shane opened his briefcase that was sitting next to the table, and pulled out a stack of papers. "I wanted you to see this." he told her quietly, handing the her the papers. Bright red ink screamed photo copy at her first, and she let her eyes travel over the paper. "These are your divorce papers." Jaylynn stated, taking another sip of the drink.

"Yes they are. I wanted you to see that I signed them." Shane said. Jaylynn flipped through the papers until she came to his signature. "You signed them at the Smackdown taping." Jaylynn stated, taking a larger drink.

"After you left, after our fight...I realized how stupid I was being. That I love you and I want to be with you. And I can't do that while holding onto the past. It's official now. I'm divorced. Free to be with anyone I want. And I want to be with you." Shane told her.

Jaylynn gulped down the rest of her drink, feeling the warmth spread through her entire body. She slowly pulled her eyes up to look into Shane's. A different kind of warmth spread through her body and she felt her hands shaking as they grasped the papers tightly.

She set the papers on the table, not taking her eyes from Shane's and the unspoken question they asked. Slowly she nodded and found her lips interlocking with Shane's.

Jaylynn stepped out of the limo after Shane the next morning at the Raw arena. She gave a quick wave to the fans before security guards rushed her into the building. Jaylynn slid her arm through Shane's as they walked through the already crowded backstage area.

The entourage stopped in front of the women's locker room. "Promise me that you won't go off by yourself? That you'll say with one of the other wrestlers at all times?" Shane asked. "I promised. Now go and let me get ready for the show tonight." Jaylynn smiled, leaning in to give Shane a kiss.

As they separated and she turned to enter the locker room, she spotted Jeff Hardy watching her.

"Hey Kali, you wanna go grab a bit from the catering with me?" Jaylynn asked a few hours later. "Sure." Kali nodded as the women left the locker room.

"So are you and O'Mac back together?" Kali asked. Jaylynn nodded and smiled. "Yep, he's divorced now, so there's no guilt."

Kali nodded. "So, what was the thing between Helms and Hardy?" she asked. "Just boys being boys. It doesn't concern me, so I'm staying out of it." Jaylynn bit her cheek to keep from telling Kali the truth.

As they entered the catering area, Jaylynn's eyes met Jeff's. "You know...I'm not that hungry. How about we race back to the locker room?" Jaylynn asked a bit to late as Jeff walked up to them.

"Jaylynn, can we speak for a moment?" Jeff asked. "You know. I think I'm gonna just go over here and, uh, hug the wall. It looks deprived." Kali smiled, walking off.
