Jokes Made by Ron Weasley
Harry, Ron, and Hermione always try to figure out what's going on at Hogwarts before it's obvious to everyone else (especially me). It's usually Hermione, with her vast knowledge of everything, who ends up puzzling out the mystery, while Ron's serious theories are generally way off. However, have you ever noticed that when Ron jokes about something, he's usually correct? Weird stuff happens whenever Ron makes a joke.
Sorcerer's Stone "Chapter 12: The Mirror of Erised" *Harry takes Ron to see the mirror, thinking that he'll get to see all of the Weasleys, and Ron jokes that maybe the mirror only shows dead people. (Hmm... Makes you wonder, doesn't it, about what other people saw in the mirror?) Chamber of Secrets "Chapter 12: The Polyjuice Potion" *This isn't a joke, but when Ron sees what happened to Hermione after she took the potion, he backs into the sink in shock. (Wonder if it's the same sink that ends up being the entrance to the chamber?) "Chapter 13: The Very Secret Diary" *When the trio is trying to figure out what T.M. Riddle's award was for, Ron jokes that maybe he murdered Moaning Myrtle. (Riddle was the heir of Slytherin, and set the monster in the chamber on Myrtle, which is how she died, so technically, Riddle did kill her.) Prisoner of Azkaban "Chapter Six: Talons and Tea Leaves" *Again, not a joke, but when Ron is looking at Hermione's schedule, he makes a comment about how there isn't enough time for her take all those classes. (But we all know that there was enough time, with the help of a time-turner.) "Chapter Seven: The Boggart in the Wardrobe: *When Hermione complains that she didn't get to fight the boggart, Ron jokes that her boggart would probably be a bad grade. (Well, well, well, Mr. Weasley... If we jump ahead to final exam time, we see that that, indeed, was what Hermione was afraid of.) "Chapter Thirteen: Gryffindor versus Ravenclaw" *When Harry tells Ron that he shouldn't be mad at Hermione, Ron tells him that it's her fault, acting like Scabbers has just "gone on vacation or something". (Not really a joke either, but if you skip ahead several chapters, it turns out that Scabbers did just that.)
