| April 4, 2004 We got our application...3 months early!!! We are still in shock but it came yesterday. I was reading on the message board that someone that was not far ahead of us had received their application, so I called our sw and she said that it was in the mail and then we received it yesterday. We filled out a lot of it and it looks like we are going to be waiting on our child abuse clearances and finalizing the $$$. Hopefully this will all happen quickly and we can keep moving on with the process. Thank you all for you support and prayers and please keep on praying for us!!! God Bless and we love you all!!! ( Don't forget to sign the guestbook, accessed on the home page!!!) April 23, 2004 Today we turned in our application and are on our way in the process. We also sent in the information for the INS to get our background check. We will now wait for our applicaiton to be approved and they will set up a homestudy date. We will also wait for notification of when to get fingerprinted by the INS. It feels so good to be in the process and on our way to bringing our baby home. We want to thank you all again for the prayers and all of the support that everyone is giving us. We love you all and can't wait to update you some more. We also thank those of you who are posting messages on our message board. We love hearing from you...keep them coming!!! God Bless!!!! May 16, 2004 Hello all!!! Just thought that we would drop you a line to let you know that our application has been approved...YEAH!!! We go to get fingerprinted on Wed at the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. We also set up our homestudy for this coming Friday (5 DAYS from now!!!) to meet with the social worker that day. After the homestudy the sw will write up a homestudy report and send it to the Immigration services. It takes about 2-3 weeks to get all that approved and then the application goes off to Korea!!! We are soooo excited. After the homestudy reaches Korea we wait to be matched with a child (this can take anywhere from 2 months to 4 months). So again keep us in your prayers and thanks again for all the support and the messages on the board. We will keep you posted!!! Love you all and God Bless!!! May 19, 2004 We got fingerprinted this morning for the INS. We thought that it would be the traditional inkpads, but they did it on a computer. It was really cool! Just one more step closer to the baby!!! May 21, 2004 Well today was our homestudy! It went really well. We were really nervous and we cleaned, and cleaned and cleaned. The social worker asked us a lot of questions about growing up, our philosphies on parenting, discipline, our relationship, etc. We also gave her a tour of the house. All-in-all it took about 4 hours and after she left Jamie and I were so relieved that we took a nap and then went out to dinner. We were talking after she left and realized that after we get the okay from the INS and fax that to the adoption agency our part is done. Then all we have to do is wait and work on the house. We can't believe that the homestudy was finally here. We have talked about it since last August and here we are. Well I better go for now. We will keep you posted and we love you all!!! June 1, 2004 Well we found out today that our homestudy report was sent to the adoption agency to be approved and then after that it will be sent to Korea. the sw said that she was going to call in about a week to check on it. They usually only send the homestudies on the 15th of every month so we will be praying that it goes in June. We will keep you updated and thank you again for all of the prayers and support and we love reading your posts in our guestbook. Talk to you soon! June 15, 2004 We found out today that our homestudy was sent to Korea!!!! We are so thrilled that it is finally going to be in the same country as our baby-to-be. It is bitter sweet though because now the hard waiting begins. We should have our referral in 3-5 months where we will get a picture of our baby and the medical history. Then it will be another 3-5 months until they can come home. Please keep us in your prayers and thoughts. These are exciting yet hard times for our family and we could use all that we can get. Thank you so much for reading this journal and letting us know how much you care through the guestbook. We will keep you posted on any progress!! We love you and God Bless!!! July 9, 2004 IT'S A BOY!!! We are proud to announce that we have accepted our referral for our little boy...Isaiah James. He was born on 5-12-04 and is beautiful. At birth he weighed 6 lb. 1 oz. and was about 20 inches long. We can't believe that it happened so fast and we are in a bit of shock, but very happy to say the least. Now he should be home before Christmas. The average time to wait for them to travel is 3-5 months and boy do we have a lot to do to get ready. Thanks again for the support and prayers. I am going to try to add his picture this week sometime when I download it so check back for that!!!!! August 26, 2004 Hello all!!! I thought that I added a picture of our little angel on the web page awhile ago but now that I am back to add to the journal I see that it is not here. I will add it again today so you can see just how amazing and cute he is. Click on this picture to see a larger one!!! If I already added it somewhere that you can see sorry but he is cute enough to see again!!! |
