"On Monday evening, Jan. 9, 2006, Andrew Lloyd Webber's award-winning musical The Phantom of the Opera will become the longest-running show in Broadway history.
The performance will be number 7,486 -- surpassing the current champion Cats, which held at 7,485 shows..."

Jim is covering as the Phantom on Wednesday, August 3rd, both performances. In addition, it has been rumoured that Hugh will be leaving the production in October. No word on a replacement as yet.

The Shops at Riverside (aka the Riverside Square Mall) in Hackensack, New Jersey will host "A Little Taste of Broadway" throughout the month of December. Jim will take part in the Phantom performance scheduled for Friday, December 10 at 1:00pm. Also performing that day will be cast members from Brooklyn. The new PBS documentary, "Broadway - The American Musical," includes a segment featuring the Broadway commercial filmed in Times Square just after September 100,2001. If you recall, Jim portrayed the Phantom in that commercial. The series will be rebroadcast on Saturday, October 23 at 4pm and again at 11pm. You can also purchase the DVD set from

It's been reported that Jim went on as the Phantom once again on July 10. I've added a little
commentary by someone who was at the performance. Also, thank you to Heather for letting me know that Jim covered the role of the Auctioneer on June 24... and for making me feel incredibly guilty for missing it! I'll get myself to the theatre someday soon, Jim, I promise!

February 2 marked Jim's 14th anniversary with The Phantom of the Opera. Additionally, the show celebrated its 16th birthday on January 26. Phantom has now become the second longest-running production in Broadway history, having played 6,681 performances as of February 4.

2003:

december 5, 2003
Jim will be singing "The Music of the Night" during the Half Time show at the New York Giants game this Sunday, December 7, at Giants Stadium. Half Time is expected to begin at about 2:30pm. Also, Jim, along with Carrington Vilmont and Kris Koop, will take part in the "Lunch and a Show" series at Riverside Square Mall in Hackensack, NJ. This performance is planned for Friday, December 12 at 1:00pm.

Jim's 200th performance as the Phantom came a little earlier than expected! He was called in last minute on Saturday night, July 5th. I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time and was able to attend the show. It was an absolutely stunning performance which earned a standing ovation from a sold out and very appreciative audience. Congrats, Jim - you ROCK!

The Unions have reached an agreement and all shows are back on schedule.

Broadway has 'closed' temporarily due to the musicians' strike. In a show of support, actors and stagehands have agreed to not cross picket lines so all Broadway musicals, with the exception of Cabaret, have been put on hold until further notice.

Jim will be appearing along with Adrienne McEwan and Michael Shawn Lewis as part of the fifth annual summer concert series, Broadway in Bryant Park. The concert will take place on Thursday, July 11, with the first performance at 12:30 and a second at 1:30.
