| Okay, the story so far... THE PREDICAMENT One day, Staid was walking in the woods. He had been having 'one of those days' and needed to take a walk and blow off some steam. He was so caught up in his thoughts and fumings, however, that he really didn't pay attention to where he was going, and found himself at the very heart of the woods. Of course he had been warned about this place, but his mood made him reckless, and he plunged through the thicket and came to an enormous clearing. He thought it was odd, a five mile wide clearing at the heart of the woods, but curiosity stemmed him onward. He reached the center of the clearing and was compelled to stay, though he didn't know why. So he waited, in the very center of the clearing on a small hill. Before long, out of a clear blue sky, dark, ominous clouds began to conjure themselves directly over Staid's head. He was mildly frightened, but mostly mystified at this apparition. A commanding voice issued out from the cloud, warning Staid that he had entered a forbidden place, and his punishment would be... death. Staid isn't as dumb as he looks, however, and though he was scared, he kept a cool head and figured out that though the creature was powerful by his, Staid's, standards, it was weaker than it should have been, and was a prisoner, confined to the clearing. What the creature needed was energy- energy derived from the emotion a human being puts off when it is harmed, hurt and very scared. This powerful emotion fuels the repulsive beast. So, Staid made a bargain. He told the creature that he would get him the energy he needed to become strong again, in exchange for his life. The creature agreed. Now, using the glass balls provided him by the creature, Staid captures the fears and pain of others, and delivers it to the creature, sometimes having to create his own situations in which others can be hurt. Now Staid himself is a prisoner, bent under the will of the creature... Lately, however, Staid has begun to fight the creature. He had never even seen it, yet his will is bent against it. He sometimes wishes he had chosen death over this cruel bondage. He stopped delivering energy to the creature. The creature did not appreciate that... He called Staid to him. He would not relent. Staid came. Staid was punished, and now bears the wounds of his own extracted pain energy. But he continues to fight, and will never give up, not until he is free... ........................................................................................................................ So much has happened. With the arrival of Nelan to the Hogwarts ground, the aire of excitement seemed to make the atmosphere itselve quiver with anticipation. Something big was about to happen... and it did. Staid was taken by Thias, who happened to be working for the creature into the clearing where the creature dwells. Nelan, being, as it were, too curious for his own good, followed. And big time crap went down. Nelan, Staid, and Thias, all smack dab i the middle of it all. Others were present to witness it. Thias against Staid. His job: To destroy him. What happened? Nelan intervened, and was stabbed himself with the dagger meant for Staid and Staid only. But Nelan managed to drive his dagger home in Thias as well, rendering him still alive, but useless to the creature's cause. The creature, upon seeing this, dismissed Thias from his service, and turned his eyes now, upon Nelan. He took him, with his dying breath, stole him away. Whether he lived or dies remains to be seen. It is a mystery yet to be solved. But even if Nelan was alive.. could he ever truly be Nelan? ....................................................................................................................... Okay well the latest update: Nelan's back in town with a thirst for vengance. The creature has warped his mind into thinking Staid never appreciated anything he did, especially giving his life to save Staid's. The creature taught Nelan to use his wand, and procured him to excell in one spell and one alone, all the malice and hatred he fostered in Nelan's mind focusing into one single curse to gain power for him.. the Crucio... |
