| Kokariko Well Go to Kokariko Village as an adult and you'll find the place in chaos. Shiek is standing by the well; after you are both attacked and then come around, he'll teach you the Nocturne of Shadow, which is a very creepy song. If you haven't already learned it, go up into the windmill and learn the Song of Storms. Now warp to the Temple of Light and then go back to Kokariko in child form. Go up in the windmill and play the Song of Storms to the crazy guy. He'll go all psycho on you and the windmill will start turning really quickly. Jump to the right; you can't really fight it by running against it, it's like being in a hamster wheel or something. Anyway, the song will have drained the water out of the well entrance so you can get in. Climb down the hole. Here's a basic run-through of the well; there isn't much there, just in and out. - Go through the crawly hole, kill the hanging skulltula, ignore the skeleton and go straight through the wall in front of you. Yes, through it. - Watch out for the giant skull going back and forth through this room and go straight across the water through another wall. - Go around the blood in the middle of the floor and don't linger in here (there's a Wallmaster) and go straight through the next wall. - There's a statue spitting out water in front of you. Stand on the Triforce and play Zelda's Lullaby. Now the water will have drained out. - Go back through the bloody room and you'll find an indention in the floor with a crawly space and a treasure chest. Go through the crawly space, kill the hanging skulltula, climb the wall, and go through the door. - Here's your first fight with a Dead Hand. There are four arms sticking up out of the ground. I suggest standing with your back to a corner of the room, looking at one of the hands, holding down Z-Target, then running forward and backflipping back at the last instant to taunt the hand. If you do it correctly, the hand won't grab you and you'll lure the Dead Hand, itself, out of the ground. Don't worry, the arms can't hurt you on their own. Anyway, the basic idea is that the Dead Hand will come up to you and try to bite you. Once it lowers its head, hit it with your sword. He's not so tough, just creepy looking. If you swing the sword before he lowers his head, he'll just wait patiently until he feels it is safe to attack you. It takes ten blows to kill him. - Get the Lens of Truth out of the treasure chest that appears after you kill the Dead Hand, then get outta there! You can use the Lens, if you want, to reveal all the invisible enemies and doors. Just keep in mind that it uses up magic power. Getting in the Castle This isn't so rough. Just play the Nocturne of Shadow. There is a doorway with steps behind you. Go down and you'll find a bunch of unlit torches. The easiest way to do this is stand on the pedestal in the center and use Din's Fire. Once all the torches are lit, the door to the Shadow Temple will open. Hover Boots |
