| Morphing Masks Deku Mask When Link regains his Hylian form for the first time, this mask will drop at his feet to allow him to return to his Deku form at any time. If you ever see Deku Flowers or other hard-to-reach places, snap on this mask. To operate this body, use the following commands: -Spin once by pushing A. This is a useful, quick attack. -Shoot a bubble by pushing B (you can aim with the joystick). Be careful, this uses up magic power, but it's a nice substitute for a slingshot or bow. -Stand on top of a Deku flower, then push and hold A. This will cause you to burrow into the flower. When you let go of A, you will rocket out; don't push anything to hover (you can move with the joystick) or push A to drop to the ground. -Run straight at water to hop over it. You can get five hops before you sink. -Be sure you steer clear of fire: you're made of wood. Goron Mask The ghost of Darmani will present Link with this mask after you put him to rest with the Song of Healing. It allows Link to turn into a Goron. To operate this body, use the following commands: -Press and hold A, then push forward with the joystick to roll. You'll continue to gain speed until you grow spikes and start using up magic power. -Push B to punch powerfully. -Pound the ground/switches by pressing and holding A, then pushing B. -Watch out for deep water -- Gorons sink like their main diet. Also, Gorons cannot climb or jump or run very fast. Zora Mask The Zora body is by far the coolest in the game. Link will win this mask from the dead/dying Mikau on the Great Bay Coast. To operate this body, use the following commands: -Swim by pushing A. Use the joystick to steer. This is the coolest, must exciting thing in the game; it's what being a dolphin must be like. -Push R while you swim to ignite a magic force field surrounding your Zora body. It will zap about anything, but be careful because it uses up magic power. -While you're in the water, push A to surface. -On land, push A to roll forward, just as Link's Hylian body does. -When Link is standing on land or the floor of the sea in this body, push B (repeatedly if you wish) to get some nice punches and kicks. -While standing underwater or on land, press and hold B to release the boomerang fins. Z-target your enemy to ensure good aim. Giant's Mask After you defeat Eyegore in the upside-down Stone Tower Temple, you will win this mask. Wear it in the fight with TwinMold to make yourself innumerable times larger. It sucks away magic power and can only be worn in the battle with TwinMold, but it's still a pretty cool mask. Link operates just like normal wearing this mask. Fierce Deity's Mask If you have gained all ninteen of the non-morphing masks plus the Giant's Mask, Link can play in all the Moon Dungeons. Once he has successfully done this, the final child wearing Majora's Mask will give Link the Fierce Deity Mask. It allows Link to assume a body quite similar to Adult Link in Ocarina of Time, except that you have the coolest sword ever. Use Z-targeting and B to fire beams from the sword. This is quite a nice long-range attack for a short-range weapon. This mask can only be worn in battle rooms and makes the final battle against Majora's Mask no sweat. Non-Morphing Masks Great Fairy Mask Link receives this mask from the Great Fairy in North Clock Town as a thank-you for restoring her to health. Use this mask in dungeons to call stray fairies over to you so you can get some cool prizes. Bremen Mask Guru-Guru gives this mask to Link at night in the Laundry Pool near South Clock Town. Wear the mask to lead small animals behind you as you march. Bunny Hood This is my best friend in the game!!! Use the Bremen Mask to grow all the baby chicks (by leading them around) at the cucco shack in Romani Ranch, Grog will give you this mask as a thanks. Wear it any time to run incredibly fast; you can also cheat while wearing this mask in the postman's timing game. Kamaro's Mask Put Kamaro (the ghost dancing at night on the rock in North Termina Field) to rest with the Song of Healing to get his mask and some cool dance moves. Blast Mask The old lady in the Bomb Shop will give you this mask as a thank you for protecting her at 12:30 am on Day 1 from Sakon in North Clock Town. The mask is useful for bombing walls and enemies, but it hurts Link a bit in the process, so I avoid using it. Mask of Truth The Cursed Skulltula Man in the Swamp Spider House will give Link this mask if you rid the house of all the spiders. It lets you get hints from Gossip Stones and read the minds of animals and some people. Mask of Scents Race the Deku Princess' butler to win this mask. It's only use (that I can find) is sniffing out the pair of boxers in the Inn in Clock Town that Link should give to Koume and Kotake. Don Gero's Mask The Hungry Goron in the Mountain Village will give this mask to Link as a thanks for feeding him the sirloin rock in the chandeleir in the Goron Shrine. Wear the mask to gather all the frogs once spring has arrived. Romani's Mask Cremia will give Link this mask as a thank-you for protecting her on her wagon trip to Clock Town. Visit her in Romani Ranch on day 2 for an opportunity to win this mask (after you've gotten rid of the space aliens). Circus Leader's Mask Gorman will give this mask to Link in the Milk Bar after he plays the Ballad of the Windfish. Wear the mask while protecting Cremia on her wagon trip to prevent the bandits from attacking. Garo's Mask The Gorman Brothers must give this mask to Link when he defeats them in a race. Wear this mask in the Ancient Castle of Ikana to render Re-Dead helpess (and dancing) and to call Garo from the netherworld in Ikana Canyon. Stone Mask This is my second-favorite mask in the game; Link wins it from the invisible soldier, Shiro, on the Road to Ikana when he views him in the circle of rocks with the Lens of Truth then gives him a Red or Blue Potion. Use the mask to walk, unnoticed, past most enemies. All-Night Mask The Curiosity Shop Owner will have this mask on sale on the night of day 3 if Link prevents Sakon from robbing the old woman at 12:30 am on day 1 in North Clock Town. The mask is incredibly expensive (500 rupees), but if Link wears it during grandmother's stories in the Stock Pot Inn, he can win two Pieces of Heart. Kafei's Mask Madame Aroma in the Mayor's Residence will give Link this mask to help his search for the missing man after whom the mask was named. Keaton Mask Link gets this mask from the man in the Curiosity Shop when questioning him about Kafei on day 3 in the shop's back room. Wear it to call forth Keaton (chop down all the bushes arranged in a circle that start dancing as you cut) and answer some questions correctly to win a Piece of Heart. Postman's Hat The Postman will give this mask to Link outside the Milk Bar on day 3 after you give him the letter from Kafei to deliver. Couple's Mask Receive this mask from Anju and Kafei on day 3 in the Stock Pot Inn after witnessing their reunion. Later, wear the mask in front of Mayor Dotour. Captain's Hat If Link defeats Captain Keeta in the Ikana Graveyard race and gets to the treasure chest first, he will win this mask. With it you will earn the respect of any Stalchildren. Gibdo's Mask The man-turned-mummy inside the Ikana Canyon Music Box House will drop this mask on the floor after you return him to his original form with the Song of Healing. Wear it to render Re-Dead helpless to fight you. |
