| PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE: I have previously worked as a �Freelance Consultant� Since Sept 1997. Under this role my job responsibilities include the following: > Providing consultancy, support, market intelligence & advise to clients for international marketing of various products and services offered by these clients. > Coaching the clients for a head start in the international marketing arena. > Identification and exploration of new clients interested to avail the marketing consultancy services offered by my company. > Exploration of new markets, new buyers and new business opportunities for the existing clients. > Correspondence with foreign buyers and other foreign associates of clients. > Formulation of the strategy for the international marketing of client�s exportable products. > Liaison with existing buyers of the clients. > Liaison connected with the shipping and logistics matters of the export or import items of the clients. > Identification of new importable products and formulation of �domestic marketing� strategy of the imported items. > Identification of domestic wholesalers of �imported products�. Liaison with them. Dy. General Manager � Exports April 1996 to August 1997 Catvison Exports, New Delhi This is the export division of a well-known name in �Dish Antenna� in India. The company has its overseas offices in Moscow, Russia and also in a few other countries. They also have interests in third party items for exports, like warm wears, RMG etc. I headed the export division of the company and handled large business volumes. My job involved global marketing of the company products. I also traveled frequently to Russia and some European countries namely Hungary, Czech Republic, Austria, and Poland etc. for business development. Procured large export orders and strengthened distribution channels. Also organized and showcased company�s products in international trade fairs. Herein my reporting was to the C.E.O. of the company. Manager � International Trade Nov 1992 to Jan 1994 Indian Toners and Developers Ltd., New Delhi The organization is a very well known public limited company with substantial turnover earned through �exports of their own manufactured products�. I had the opportunity to join the company since its inception. The company was established in technical collaboration with ELFOTEC AG, Switzerland to manufacture toner (dry inks) for use in photocopiers like CANNON, TOSHIBA, RICOH, MITA, MINOLTA etc. My job responsibilities included overall supervision of international sales and marketing operations and to setup the global network of distributors and wholesalers for the company. For this I established overseas contacts from the scratch. Traveled to Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Bangladesh, UAE, Kuwait, Jordan etc. for business development. Later we established an office in Singapore as hub of the international activities. I single handedly looked after the complete export division and handled very large overseas accounts. I was reporting to executive director of the company. General Manager � Exports Jan 1991 to Nov 1991 Vishrut Enterprises, New Delhi Was involved in the international sales and marketing of carpets, durries and other Indian handicrafts and traditional items including garments. I was also responsible for generating new business for the company from the overseas markets. Visited various west European markets for business developments and for generating orders. Countries visited for business were Italy, Germany, Holland, Denmark. I was reporting to the director of the company. Asst. Manager Jun 1988 to Jan 1991 Fortune International Ltd. (Gom Group of Companies), New Delhi The company is a Govt. of India recognized �STAR TRADING HOUSE� with a very high global turnover. The company exports various products and services, to over 100 countries worldwide. It also has offices in different countries. Visited various east and west European countries and managed company�s stalls in overseas trade fairs for the company. I was also looking after the product sourcing for the large orders received from Russia, Cuba and Vietnam. These items included various engineering and FMCG items. Apart from the above, the purpose of my position was also to assist the higher-ups in trade coordination, monitoring documentation execution and trade settlement, follow up with counter parties and banks, coordination with legal / tax and similar issues arising in various corners of the contracts having impact on business and corporate matters. Herein my reporting was to the General Manager- Exports. |
