Walk Master
When one sees a good dancer gliding or sliding on
the floor, it is an illusion created which many people reason to be due to the smooth extra powdered floor. In fact for a good dance a good foothold is extremely necessary. |

||
The walk forward and backward is based on a natural walking
movement - the only difference being that the feet skim lightly
along the floor instead of being lifted for each step, which not
only gives a better balance but also creates the illusion of
sliding or gliding on the floor.
The walk that everyone does so naturally that we really do not
think much in this respect. It is most of the times taken for
granted that one knows well how to walk. This is true and yet it
is only the half-truth. This is one of the reasons for most
people to feel very conscious of dancing, that the same very
things done daily, precisely does not come so naturally when
dancing.
The Walk is one of the main basics of the Dance-Sport since all
the dances are based on one-step dances, which means all are very
similar to normal walk. Thus the walk explained here would be
required with only a slight modification for every dance in the
Dance-Sport section.
Therefore it is necessary to practice the walk more consciously,
and to understand the mechanics of it with reasons and logic.
This in turn will help in understanding the walk consciously and
would enhance the process of producing the normal-walk naturally
when dancing.
