Hug: Technique

For a good social hug the body postures is
as shown in the photograph. The legs are straight with
relaxed knees. Both the arms go around the partner
and the head is turned to the left. And the
participants' shoulders are square to one another.
Similar to a firm handshake the grip
is firm, and it's retained for a while.

The individuality, personality, self-esteem, pride of a person
is maintained before, during and also after the hug.

In the photograph, each is a Master and subtly a Slave
at the same instant of time.

How to Stand
Stand backing against the wall such that the heels, buttocks and the back of the two shoulder blades touch the wall. Get the feel of this position and try to get the same independent of the wall. Then keep the head straight and pull the chip slightly up.

It is important not to alter this position in any case. If the person to be hugged is too short, then kneel down but the posture still remains the same.

Tight Muscles
Imagine you stand first in the degree examination of a university. You would be feeling at the top of the world. In such cases the body tightens up subconsciously, and it assumes a posture of confidence, similar to the one mentioned above. Similarly the muscles of the whole body should be kept firm. Through out the process of the hug, the body remains firm irrespective of whom one is hugging.

Hold
The arms go around the person using the path of least resistance in a very relaxed manner. The hold is tightened to bring the person closer for the feel of touch and warmth. The grip here should be like in a firm handshake, without disturbing the body posture and firmness, of the partners' or one's own self.
