Basic Sequence: Cha Cha Cha: Part 2

The first basic sequence.

Please Note: This is a sequel to General: Elixir

The basic sequence needs to be practised until one is able to recognise the individual figures as having individual distinct identities. When this happens you would be able to move as you like, with the mood, the need of the situation and instance.

Basic: (Also refer Fig: Directions)
This figure is already explained above as the Forward Basic and the Backward Basic, which are basically a Rock Step and a Chasse done in this combination. All the movements start or end facing one direction, which is the basic reference direction “B” as shown in the figure “Fig: Directions”. Reference: Rock Step and Chasse Together

Forward Basic Movement:
1. Left foot forward for count 2
2. Replace weight on the Right foot for the count 3
3. Chasse to the left (L, R, L) for the counts Cha Cha 1 or 4, & 1.

Backward Basic Movement:
1. Right foot backward for count 2
2. Replace weight on the Left foot for the count 3
3. Chasse to the right (R, L, R) for the counts Cha Cha 1 or 4, & 1.

Note: When man is dancing the Forward Basic Movement, the lady is dancing the Backward Basic Movement, and vice versa. The above is true when the two dancers are facing and square to one another and in hold.
