“Can we get something to eat once we get inside? I’m so damn starving!!” said Callum.
“What do you mean you’re starving?! You ate 3/5 of the supplies!! We had to share 2/5 for FOUR people!! I’m starving, my @$$,” exclaimed Erayshha.
Misty sighed and thought, "There they go again."
Jasmina just ignored it and
walked up to the gate protecting Cosmo Canyon still able to hear Callum
and Erayshha still arguing.
She knocked on the gate
as hard as she could and waited for an answer.
“Who’s there?” asked the guard from a surprisingly low window
“Jasmina Valentina,” she replied.
“Jasmina Valentina who?” asked the guard again.
“Makarto, stop playing games. It’s important,” she said with a hint of amusement in her voice.
“Sorry. But can I help it? I’m still 45 years old, y’know,” he said while opening the door.
“15 in human age,” Jasmina replied back motioning for her friends to enter. “ It’s good to see you old friend.”
“It’s good to see you as well, Jasmina. So, what brings you to Cosmo Canyon?” he asked.
“Well, remember the last time I came here? I read a book about resurrecting spirits from the lifestream. We were hoping to seek the knowledge of the elders in order to…”
“To resurrect the spirits of the heroes of the past, right?” Makarto finished for her.
“Yep. Do you think it’s possible?” she asked.
“Don’t know. I never really thought of it. But we can try,” replied Makarto.
“I guess. Oh yeah. I’d better introduce you to my group.”
“Guys, meet Makarto. Makarto, meet Blaze Strife, Misty Highwind, Erayshha Kisaragi and Callum Wallace,” she said pointing to them as she said their names.
“Pleased to meet you,” said Misty.
“Pleased to meet you too,” said Erayshha. Blaze just nodded.
“Hey, how come you have a cat as a friend?” Callum said while holding his right eye. Obviously Erayshha had punched him hard.
“For your information, I am not an ordinary cat. Funny coming from a guy who got hit in the eye by a girl,” replied Makarto annoyed. Suddenly, there was a crash startling all the occupants. Callum turned to look at Erayshha and said, “Did you do something?”
“WHAT?!” Erayshha said annoyed. Then an alarm sounded. A man rushed up to Makarto and whispered something into his ear.
“What?! Monsters are attacking Cosmo Canyon!” Makarto shouted out to everyone with him.
“It must be Jenova!” said Jasmina with an angry look in her eyes.
“Who said that Jenova can’t have any control over Cosmo Canyon?” Callum said turning his gaze from Erayshha to Blaze.
“I didn’t say that Jenova couldn’t attack, did I?” replied Blaze reaching for his sword strapped to his back.
“Callum, Misty, you two quickly gather all the women, children and any other people you can find and bring them to the Gi cave. Makarto, you have to find the book, then give it to Callum and Misty then quickly join us in the battle. The rest follow me. Move out!” instructed Jasmina.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
As expected, monsters were piling into the canyon finding a battle to pick inside. Meanwhile, in all the havoc, Callum and Misty were searching for the those who have yet to hide in the now abandoned Gi cave, Makarto was searching for the book as fast as he can while Jasmina, Erayshha and Blaze fought the monsters preventing them from finding the Gi cave and killing the people in it. Blaze brought down his Ultima Sword onto a monster attempting to go in further into Cosmo Canyon. Suddenly, Erayshha’s Tiannes Whip cracked through the air at the back of him. He turned to look at another monster which had dropped behind him.
“You’d better watch your back, Blaze!” she called from afar. Jasmina jumped up and brought her own sword, the Masamane, which was a copy of the infamous Masamune, except that it was straight, down onto the head of a winged creature hovering above her waiting for its moment to strike. Fortunately it wasn’t given a chance. Not long afterwards, Makarto came to join them.
“Am I late for the party?”
“Don’t worry, there’s still enough monsters you can kill here,” Erayshha replied. Makarto looked at Jasmina’s direction expecting for another reply from her, but what he saw was a face contorted with anger and hatred as she striked down on another monster. His gaze was immedietely broken by rows and rows of sharp teeth. He quickly cast a bolt 3 onto it frying the monster and went to search for the others. Finally he found Blaze amidst the sea of claws and razor sharp teeth.
“Is it just me or is Jasmina looking really angry all of a sudden,” he said to Blaze while attacking a serpent like creature trying to tear at his flesh.
“She’s always like this everytime we fight Jenova’s yankees,” replied Blaze swiping at a cyclops approaching the entrance to Cosmo Canyon.
In the meantime, Jasmina was searching for the leader controlling the hideous creatures. And finally she found it after hacking her way through hundreds of monsters attacking her. It looked exactly like Jenova.
“Most probably another one of her body parts,” she thought to herself.
*************************
“MOM!! DAD!! NOOOOOOOO!!” 15 year old Jasmina Valentina shouted out to her parents as they were hit by a beam of energy. She ran to them hoping against hope that they were still alive. Unfortunately her father was dead but her mother was still alive and was on the brink of death.
“Jasmina.” Her mother called out to her in a voice so soft that one could barely call it a whisper. She motioned for Jasmina to come closer.
“Jasmina… take my sword, the masamane, for it… is now yours. Keep the masamune… You might need it…someday. Remember… no matter how much… you hate him… he is still…” Before she could finish what she was about to say, Shereen Valentina died.
“NOOOOO!! Mom, please. Don’t leave me,” Jasmina said crying on her mother’s body. Above Jenova-Ultimate laughed and Jasmina felt slimy tentacles wrap around her arms and something hit her from the back knocking her out cold.
*************************
A sudden rage of fury caused her to charge at the unsuspecting monster. Her green eyes glowed with an intense fire as she shouted out her attack.
“SPIRAL STRIKE!!” Her sword twirled and formed a twister-like attack hitting it hard. The Jenova-like entity, got up and started attacking her with it’s dangerously poison tentacles. Jasmina knew that this wasn’t going to be an easy fight. One of the tentacles managed to knock the masamane out of her hand, but Jasmina reached into one of her black boots and pulled out a jagged dagger. Jasmina kept on dodging the attacks waiting for a chance to strike. Once again, it swung a tentacle at Jasmina, aiming for her right leg and it hit its target.
“Aargh! Dammit!” Jasmina had had enough of this. Blinded with rage, she couldn’t care less whether she was hit or not. Ignoring the pain emerging from her leg, she charged at the monster and attacked it continuously without giving it a chance to strike back. Finally, with one last strike she killed it. Without their leader, the monsters ran away. With two swipes through the air with her dagger to remove the blood off of it, she tucked it into her boot and went to pick up her sword and find her friends.
