INFORMATION REGARDING TRY-OUTS
Jacksonville College is seeking canidates who are dedicated, motivated and display good moral character.
Tryouts will be held Friday, April 16th and Saturday, April 17th.
To participate in the try-out, you must submit a completed application, questionnaire, photograph, and proof of medical insuranse by April 12, 2004. (Do not have pictures made for this try-out. A snap shot will be acceptable.)
Please come prepared to tryout. For the women, a sports bra, T-Shirt, cotton shorts, and proper footwear will be necessary. For the men, a T-shirt, shorts, and proper footwear will be necessary. (Please do not wear black soled shoes.)
Try-outs are a two day process and will consist of three phases:
Friday- Phase I: Canidates will be required to learn try-out material such as
(6:15 pm-8 pm) cheer, chant, and series of three jumps.
Saturday- Phase II: Canidates will be given the opprotunity to "stunt around"
((8:25 am-8:50 am ) and tumble. An interview will also be conducted.
Saturday- Phase III Canidates will perform the cheer chant and do jumps in
(8:50 am-9:45 am) front of panel judges.
Areas of Evaluation: Sharp motions, coordination,
personality/projection, tumbling, fitness/strength level, and
weight/height proportion
Canidates will be notified by telephone Saturday evening following tryouts if selected to the squad.
Scholarships, which will cover 75% of tuition are available. The total number of scholarships to be awarded will be determined by the Dean of Students.
Cheerleaders are required to pay $100.00 each that will go toward camp expenses.
