Ostara is a celebration of fertility, conception, and regeneration as the earth begins to bloom. Light triumphs over dark as the days become longer than the nights. Originally a time for sowing and planting, Ostara today is a time for putting plans into motion, sowing the seeds of ideas.
The union of the Goddess and God varies by tradition. Some have it at Imbolc or Beltaine, though Ostara is nine months before the birth of the God at Yule.
