Imbolc is the beginning of spring. The child God matures, seen in the lengthening days. Celebrations center around light. The Crone Goddess makes way for the Maiden, who has recovered from childbirth and prepares the earth to begin the growth cycle again. It's a holiday of purification and stripping away the old in preparation for the new.
Historically, Imbolc was an Irish holiday dedicated to Bride, the Celtic goddess of creativity, smithing, and healing.
