The Cramps--the
very name suggests something askew, some kind of inner rebellion.
However, unlike severe abdominal pains, these Cramps are of the musical
variety, and their knuckles-clenched fire-eating brand of rock n'roll captures
the essence of the past while keeping a razor on the wrist of the present.
Emanating from the bowels of the Bowery punk scene in the late '70's, the
Cramps have festered and grown to become one of the most talked about musical
and visual acts of the day.
At the forefront of the
Cramps is, of course, lead mouth Lux Interior, one of the most intense,
cataclysmic, lyrical, and gymnastic vocalists ever allowed to terrorize
a microphone. Always at his side is Poison Ivy, the Medusa-like guitarist
whose primal twangy stylings give the band its sound, soul, and spirit.

The CRAMPS continue to
perform devastating rock and roll since beginning in 1976 leaving a long
trail of albums, b-movie clips, custom hot rods and rock'n bones.
